@KTPARKMD Agree. I always tell patients we need to stay 2 steps ahead of your Crohns. More proactive adjustment and early adjustment is possibly the key to success. Unfortunately stumped by insurance companies almost all the time. #ibd

@ibddoctor Yes. As I’ve said before- “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me!” If a patient declares that they are an “antibody-former” then protect them with the next therapy.

@ibddoctor This is very important. Once a patient has developed antibodies against one biologic drug, they are likely to do it again. Need to prevent this with the next drug so don’t run out of medication options. #IBD #crohns #ulcerativecolitis

Current therapies for #IBD with a few key pointers: - do not use 5ASA medicines in #Crohn's disease - avoid excess use of steroids - azathioprine & MP are maintenance agents (so should not be used to induce remssion) - anti-TNF therapy works best when started early
