“If you’re a high school athlete you better be lifting year round. You’re competing with transfer portal athletes who train 48 weeks a year. You’re a baseball player who lifts for 3 months in the off season then says “I have travel ball” or “I’m not lifting in season” you are already behind. Lifting is the X factor for baseball players”

What a couple of months this has been! Many thanks to ‘Murphy To The Hall’ group and all those involved in the effort to get me over the line into the HOF. I'm very happy for Jeff Kent, a bona fide slugger who dominated his position, but my heart breaks for Dale Murphy, Don Mattingly, and Carlos Delgado.
Murph was a two-time MVP and is one of the game's all-time great human beings.
His omission from the HOF remains indefensible.
