Today (22.05.2026) ICAR-NRCO, Pakyong has successfully organized “Mera Gaon, Mera Gourav (MGMG)” and NEH distribution program with the farmers/beneficiaries from of Rai Gaon villages of Pakyong district, Sikkim.

It is a matter of great pride for Sikkim that the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of our Himalayan state found a place in global diplomacy as Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji presented beautifully crafted pressed orchid paintings and orchid paperweights to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Norway, Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre. On behalf of the people of Sikkim, I sincerely thank Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for bringing Sikkim’s orchid heritage and traditional craftsmanship to international attention. It fills me with pride to see orchids and ferns from our beloved state being shared as symbols of our pristine environment, organic way of life, and deep respect for nature. This thoughtful gesture also reflects his appreciation for Sikkim’s unique identity and heritage.
