Made sure all members new of the amazing work of @EilidhWhiteford and her team as well as the brilliant folk of @ICChangeUK who worked relentlessly with civil society organisations and charities to get the legislation through and ensure it was then ratified.

After the Istanbul Convention was finally ratified in 2022, looking forward to GREVIO and @UKParliament holding the UK govt accountable for delivery. Discussed how far we still have to go before all survivors access their rights with @SBSisters and @ICChangeUK today

Cross party support, role of parliaments & building alliances including with specialised women’s organizations & service providers is v. important. As parliamentarians important you hold government accountable.

.@ICChangeUK is a grassroots organization which has campaigned for signature & ratification of @coe #IstanbulConvention. Glad #UK ratified convention but there’s so much work ahead for its effective implementation & to ensure the protection of all #women from violence.
