The world is short 6 million nurses, tha is half of the global health worker shortage and a crisis we cannot ignore. Speaking to @SABCNews, ICN CEO @HowardCatton was clear: this isn’t just about training new nurses. Countries must invest in nursing education, faculty, support systems, and just as critically, retain the nurses they already have. The solution is clear: ➡️ Invest in nurses ➡️ Value nurses ➡️ Retain nurses ➡️ Empower nurses ICN and its National Nurses Associations members are taking this message straight to #WHA79 next week. 🌎Durante la visita estratégica del CIE a Costa Rica, el Presidente del CIE @jlcobosserrano, y el Dr. Gabriel Guido Sancho, Presidente del Colegio de Enfermeras de Costa Rica, se reunieron con el nuevo Ministro de Salud, Dr. Alexander Sánchez Cabo, en su primer día en el cargo. Este encuentro de alto nivel destacó la importancia de fortalecer el recurso humano en Enfermería, especialmente mediante el desarrollo de profesionales especializados, esenciales para el futuro y la sostenibilidad de los sistemas de salud. Tanto el CIE como el Colegio reafirmaron su compromiso de construir una agenda conjunta para avanzar en la Enfermería y en la salud pública del país. Extendemos también un saludo al Colegio de Enfermeras de Costa Rica en el marco de su XXIX Congreso Nacional y XIII Congreso Internacional de Enfermería, un espacio clave para el diálogo sobre ciencia, innovación y dignidad laboral.
