🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran is running the most sophisticated domestic propaganda campaign since the revolution. And for the first time in 47 years, unveiled women on state TV. The same regime that killed women over headscarves is now showing them on screen to prove it's a normal country. Why the sudden rebrand? The old revolutionary ideology "no longer had much traction within society." The war gave them nationalism as a replacement. The verdict from inside: "It's all a game." "After the war, the repression will begin." Power has shifted from clerics to generals. Iran is becoming a military state. The regime is performing unity for a population it doesn't trust. The population isn't buying it. And the generals are now running the show. That's a government most likely buying time. What will Iran look like after a deal (or a bomb)?

The Trump administration’s focus on “highly enriched uranium” is incorrect.
Uranium enrichment is not linear:
3.67% enriched uranium gets you 70% of the way to weapons-grade.
20% gets you about 90% there.
60% gets you about 96% there.
Iran has substantial quantities of enriched material at all these levels.
Any deal that leaves Iran with any enriched uranium is a bad deal. Iran can easily enrich its remaining material to weapons-grade.
Any deal that leaves its nuclear facilities intact is a bad deal. Iran can easily use these facilities for further enrichment and weaponization.
If these are the contours of a new Iran deal, it may end up even worse than the JCPOA. Let’s hope that’s not where this is heading after everything that has been accomplished in the past year.
