Tonight marks my father’s first yartzeit. He lived with decency, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility to others. He never sought the spotlight, but he shaped the people around him in ways that last. I miss him, and I carry him with me. While in Sydney, our delegation walked along Bondi Beach—a place of sunlight, families and everyday life. Just days later, that same shore was the scene of a horrific antisemitic massacre that claimed 15 lives and left three times that many wounded. To witness how quickly normalcy gave way to terror in a place where we had just stood together was profoundly jarring. 🟡 IDF representatives informed the family of Dror Or that their loved one has been brought back for burial. According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF: Dror Or, 48, was murdered by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization on Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted to Gaza from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri. His death was officially determined on May 2nd, 2024. He leaves behind three children. His wife, Yonat Or, was also murdered during the attack on the kibbutz. Two of his children, Alma and Noam, were also abducted and returned two years ago, as part of the hostage release agreement in November 2023. The IDF expresses deep condolences to the family and continues to make every effort to return all hostages to their families for a proper and dignified burial. Hamas is required to fulfill its part of the agreement and make the necessary efforts to return all the hostages to their families and to a dignified burial.

Anti-Israel activists are trying to boycott Stranger Things because two Jewish actors, Noah Schnapp and Brett Gelman, dared to speak about October 7, advocate for the hostages, and condemn Hamas. Both actors were crystal clear: they want peace for Israelis and Palestinians, and they mourn every innocent life lost. But for the Free Palestine crowd, peace is never enough. They don’t want coexistence, they want Israel erased. The pattern is always the same: stand with Israel, be Israeli, be Jewish, and you’re targeted. But this time the boycott collapsed spectacularly. Fans aren’t buying the hate.

Surviving two years of that abuse was nothing short of a miracle. Today, he’s free, back with his family, smiling in the Miami sun. And as his father said, “we are in the dream.”

I am shattered by the sudden passing of my dear friend and partner, Rabbi Moshe Hauer, zt”l. We just spoke this past Friday and texted on Monday, when he was overflowing with joy at the miracle of the hostages’ freedom and the unmistakable hand of Hashem in it. Rabbi Hauer was a trusted advisor, cherished colleague, and wise counselor to me, a bridge-builder whose faith, humility, and moral clarity inspired all who knew him. His loss leaves a deep void for all who loved and learned from him. May his memory forever be a blessing and an inspiration.

Probably my favorite reunion video 💛 Childhood friends Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Evyatar David were taken hostage together from the Nova festival on October 7. They were held together for months, but eventually separated. In August, Hamas released a video showing Evyatar emaciated and forced to dig his own grave. Both young men returned home today and their reunion is pure joy 🥹

It’s official: There are no more living Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity.

80 years after the end of WWII, where over 6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis for simply being Jewish, the so-called civilized world is rewarding modern day religious Nazis with an arbitrary Palestinian state designation. To those Western leaders who embrace this, I do not believe you are antisemitic, just shockingly ignorant and blind to what you are doing. Western Democracies recognizing a mythical Palestinian state – one without leaders, one without borders, one without a capital and one without accommodations for Israel’s security – is truly rewarding the largest slaughter of Jews since WWII. Because of these actions, throughout the terrorist world October 7 will now be considered “Liberation Day”. Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and the Houthis do not wish for two states. They wish to destroy the Jewish people and drive Israel into the sea, their words not mine.
