The #IamAPHRC Data Science Programs team was honored to attend the 2024 @IDMOD_ORG Annual Symposium, themed "Global Public Health in a Chaotic World: The Role of Modeling & Data Science." @agnes_kiragga, @cygubicko, and @isammygh presented models on how educational campaigns and spousal involvement shape fertility preferences and pregnancy outcomes. The research suggests that achieving 60% of modern contraceptive prevalence by 2030 could improve maternal and child health by 90%. EMPOWERMENT: Sharpening training skills of data scientists, mathematical modelers Dr. Amelia Bertozzi-Villa, a disease modeler from the @IDMOD_ORG and Dr. Punam Amratia, a research scientist from the @MalariaAtlas EA Node, implemented by @ifakarahealth, have been conducting a two-week session aimed at sharpening trainer teaching skills. 👩‍🏫📚 Attending are data scientists and mathematical modelers from Ifakara and @dLabTz.
