In 2024, Hurricane Beryl caused widespread power outages and extreme heat created hazardous working conditions.🌀 In a new study, researchers assess the level of heat stress experienced by emergency workers during the initial recovery phase. 🔗 doi.org/10.1029/2025GH… #AGUPubs

I spent the morning at @GTRI learning more about warning communication, changes to flood mapping products, and more. Thanks to Dr. Morgan Taylor from @UGA's Institute of Disaster Management for her insight. Nice collaboration off the football field😀 See you on Ch 2 at 4/5/6/11.

Your #4thofJuly festivities should contain fun, not burns! Enjoy public firework displays and leave the pyrotechnics to the professionals. Fireworks bring the risk of fires, injuries, and death — see the 2022 report from @USCPSC below.

Read CDC’s updated recommendations for people with #monkeypox. If you have monkeypox, isolate until your rash has fully healed. If you need to go out, cover your rash, wear a well-fitting mask, and avoid public transportation. Learn more: bit.ly/3QeRJXg.
