Our hearts & prayers are with all those impacted by the tragic attack at Heaton Park Synagogue. Such acts of hatred and violence are utterly unacceptable & are in direct opposition to everything we believe in. We stand together in calling for unity, peace & mutual understanding.

Along with all lay people and faith leaders of good will, we pray for a rapid end to the wars and famines around the world and we especially pray for an end to the war on Gaza.

Our sympathy to all Catholics on the death of Pope Francis. He was a man whose work for peace, humility and concern for the poor and the environment made him an influential presence across denominations and faiths. He leaves a powerful legacy for all. May his soul rest in peace.

Young people debating “Can religious faith reduce violence and hate in a secular world?” @ the Youth Debate 2024. Discussing causes of hate/violence ... and finding humanity, working for peace & sharing values. Everyone of faith & none working together for the common good, wow❤️

Today we stand together as one community and one Islington on the anniversary of the Finsbury Park terror attack of 19 June 2017. We remember Makram Ali, a local husband, father and grandfather who lost his life in the attack, and the many people who were injured and harmed. 1/2

I was proud to speak at tonight’s menorah lighting at Islington Green to mark the last night of Hanukkah. The vandalism of the menorah lights this morning was a disgraceful hate crime and isn’t welcome in Islington. I’m proud that our community showed that this evening

People from different backgrounds and faiths said prayers and lit candles as symbols of peace, before standing in silence together. The vigil was jointly organised by Islington Faiths Forum, Islington Hate Crime Forum and @IslingtonBC

People from across Islington came together in unity tonight for a silent peace vigil at Islington Green. The vigil was in support of all members of the community in Islington who have been affected by the crisis in the Middle East.
