Amid escalating hostilities across Iran, Iranian Red Crescent (@Iranian_RCS) teams are continuing to save lives in the most difficult conditions. With 529 branches activated and around 100,000 responders working across 197 cities, teams are providing search and rescue, emergency medical care, psychosocial support and relief assistance to people affected by violence, displacement and damaged essential services. Despite grave risks to their own safety, Red Crescent staff and volunteers remain on the ground, standing with communities when they need it most. Supported by an initial CHF 1.5 million @IFRC_DREF allocation, this response is helping deliver medical supplies and protective equipment where they are urgently needed. 👉Read the full story to learn more about their life-saving work: bit.ly/4um0VN2

United In Humanity. No matter where. No matter when. On today's World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, on behalf of the @IFRC, I would like to honour the millions of volunteers and staff who show up every day for people in crisis, standing on the frontlines of emergencies that affect them too. In an increasingly complex and polarized world, in a world marked by division and dehumanization, humanity is our common ground. It is what turns compassion into action. Today, we also remember and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in service of others. For more than 160 years, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has stood alongside communities before, during and after crises, locally and globally. Let us all remain #UnitedInHumanity.

Today is World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. Across the world, volunteers and staff from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement show up every day for people in crisis, responding in their own communities, helping neighbours, supporting families, and standing on the frontlines of emergencies that affect them too. Since January 2026, #Bangladesh has faced a major resurgence of measles, with cases spreading across all eight divisions and young children among the most affected. As the Government rolls out an emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (@BDRCS1), with support requested from @IFRC_DREF, is helping reach vulnerable communities through vaccination support, surveillance, community engagement, psychosocial support and referrals. The operation aims to reduce new infections, support an overwhelmed health system and protect 600,000 people most at risk across the country, particularly in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi. @IFRCAsiaPacific #DREFinAction

Very good first meeting with H.E. Mr. Mirosław Broiło @PLMissionGeneva. We discussed pressing global humanitarian priorities, including the Middle East crisis, Sudan, and Sahel, as well as migration challenges and the importance of coordinated international responses. We also had a constructive exchange on the forthcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference, underscoring the importance of aligning humanitarian and recovery efforts to support impacted communities, including through innovative financing approaches. Thank you to Poland for its support for our @IFRC_DREF and to our key emergency appeals, including Lebanon. I look forward to strengthening our partnership and advancing our shared humanitarian action.

To our #IFRC-DREF donors & @CroixRougeCam volunteers: thank you for making this possible for families in Kolofata, like Malam’s, who were affected by #fires.
