Today, DDG @J_Umuhire joined the Annual #AdolescentConference2025 on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, a platform bringing together young people from across the country to lead conversations and shape solutions on adolescent #SRH. She reaffirmed #Rwanda’s commitment to advancing adolescent and youth health through bold initiatives such as Youth-Friendly Corners at health centers, comprehensive sexuality education in schools, and the new Health Law all designed to empower young people to confidently seek care, information, and support. She further challenged the youth to fully utilize the spaces created by the Government and partners to seek information, ask questions, challenge norms, and innovate for improved access to health services among young people. #PuttingAdolescentsFirst #SRHR

Our first panel at the Annual #AdolescentConference2025 today was led by young people, under the theme “Addressing Persistent Barriers to SRHR Access Among Vulnerable Adolescents and Young People.” The panel featured: ✅an adolescent with a disability, ✅an adolescent refugee ✅an adolescent with HIV, ✅an teenage mother The panelists shared personal experiences, spotlighting stigma, limited access to information, and unfriendly services, appealing for inclusive, youth-centered SRHR programs and policies. 📸@inezahamza #AdolescentConference2025 #SRHR

Today, MDFC was privileged to take part in the 6th Annual Adolescent Conference, a national engaging space that aimed to convene all relevant stakeholders to strengthen the delivery of adolescent #SRHR information and services across Rwanda. Under the theme “From policy to Practice: Securing hashtag#SRHR Access for Every Adolescent, day 1 brought together adolescents, CSOs, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss the new enabling law on adolescent access to #SRH services, share lived experiences, and identify existing gaps. During the exhibition, we explored how digital health innovations are currently transforming adolescents' sexual and reproductive health. One of the showcased innovations, “aasapfinder.org”, that connects adolescents to accurate, stigma-free, and safe #SRHR information and services at the nearby verified health facilities without delay. It's Day 2 of the #AdolescentConference2025 and we are delighted to hear remarks from Raquel Báez, Deputy Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Sweden @SwedeninRw, who reaffirming Sweden’s strong partnership with Rwanda in advancing adolescent health. Highlighting recent progress, Báez congratulated the @RwandaGov on passing the new health services law allowing adolescents aged 15+ to access #SRHR services without parental consent. “This milestone shows the strength of advocacy, civil society engagement and government leadership.” she said. #PuttingAdolescentsFirst #SRHR 🇸🇪🇷🇼
