@FocusFamily Hey FotF, I’d love for you to think about how you’ve contributed to the fact that LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionately more likely to die by suicide - and that that disparity is eliminated when they have accepting families and communities.

Today is world suicide prevention day. Each day in our nation, there are an average of over 3,703 attempts by young people grades 9-12. If your teen is struggling with dark thoughts, here are 5 encouragements you can share to remind them they are not alone: 1. You’re not alone—I’m here. Connection and love are powerful lifelines. 2. Tell me how you’re feeling when you’re ready. Talking about suicide doesn’t create the idea—it opens the door to healing. 3. You matter to me and to others. Remind them of their worth and belonging. 4. We’re in this together—let’s find support. Counseling and mentors can help carry the weight. 5. Let’s make a plan for safety. Ask honest questions and walk through next steps together. Parents—your steady presence, listening ear, and compassionate words can make all the difference. Don’t underestimate the power of being there and present with your children. If you or your teen are in immediate danger, call 911. For the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, dial 988 for free and confidential help.

Persecution comes in many forms, and today there are more forms of it than ever. We are called to a higher standard - one of blessing and peace. We must be on guard with prayer to ensure that we are not the reason someone hates the church.

To experience genuine love with our mate, we must bring a third party into the equation — Jesus Christ. Only through this spiritual connection with Him can we begin to fulfill the potential of the relationship we call marriage.

We are currently the #1 podcast tagged as “sexuality” which is cool on its own, and also because that means we are beating @fakedansavage Dan Savage, come on the podcast!

Dr. James Dobson has gone to Heaven at the age of 89. I knew James very well, and I can tell you he was a true man of God who lived a life of integrity. I’ll never forget that after our son Christopher went to Heaven 17 years ago, Dr. Dobson personally called us and spent a great deal of time ministering to our whole family. Over the years I had the privilege of interviewing him many times, including once at a Harvest Crusade, and he also interviewed me on his radio program. We went on a trip to Israel together, as well as to the White House on more than one occasion. He and his devoted wife Shirley shared such a beautiful marriage—one that we would all aspire to. His life and ministry touched millions as he faithfully taught us how to build godly families. He was a legend, a treasure to the Church, and he will be greatly missed.
