Well though we may not cover games anymore, still a fan from afar. Congrats @LAGirlsHoops on the state title. Coach Schoenecker is one of the most genuinely good individuals I’ve met while reporting and deserves all the success he’s earned this season. Congrats Jeremy!

Another year of volleyball state playoffs and another year I’m begging the IHSA to change sectional assignments. The Glenbrook North, LWW, Brother Rice, and Oswego sectionals are so unfair compared to Jones and OPRF. Oh, and re-seed once they reach the final 8 while we’re at it

@CoachMikeEllis Here’s my big issue, the implementation not the concept. Evanston is super fortunate to have the resources to pay for a shot clock and full time operators, and that’s great! But what about schools with less resources where they don’t even have someone who can do the book?

Ask your players anonymously, if they would want to play the game the same way they see every game played on TV. Without influence, I'll guess they would love to play basketball with a shot clock. Our shot clock presentation highlights all of those benefits.

I’d argue there are way more media outlets covering preps outside of Chicagoland than in the Chicago area. This whole “Oh we’re so disrespected” narrative is so played out and exhausting. Look at the AP poll year after year, heavily skewed towards downstate teams.

@tnoland1 Shot clock operator. It’s fine in big tournaments and shootouts when you can pay a designated person $100 a game to do it. But what do you do in CPS, charter schools, and others where it’s a 15 year old kid doing the book.

I was gonna be nice and not call you out but here we are X… Hating? you beat a team by 100, that’s ridiculous no matter how many players you have. Did you go full court against them and every other team you best by 80 this season? Cause that’s not necessary.

We have 8 players, barely let one girl play bcuz we are saving her for the games later this week That left 7 girls, so duh, some starters would still be in game. But the kid who scored 50 was subbed out in 2nd quarter & in 4th.

I still do keep up with basketball scores for my own curiosity, and I just want to get one thing off my chest. There is zero point to beat teams by 60, 70, 80+ points. No college coach is going to look at those inflated stats favorably and you just end up looking like an ass.
