@CaptainKaye42 @AKlay19 As someone who grew up during the Disney VHS sequel era, that doesn’t matter too much. Kids will eat up those movies just because their favorite characters are back. The main issue is the sequel already exists and came out very recently, so why watch the remake?

As someone who’s been on the record for years saying that Disney doing a MOANA remake so soon doesn’t make business sense, I feel very validated right now. That said, even I didn’t think it would do THIS poorly.

On May 1, 2015, I popped into a noon show of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in a local IMAX theater to watch the big new trailers on a big-ass screen. That showing was maybe 15% full. AVENGERS 2 earned $84 million that day. Moviegoing is a peak-hours business.
