@summerrexe That's so creative. I love the feature where when you rub it, it smiles so freaking cute! Genuinely forget how creative people can be.

This is how I view the world: two types of people in early Maths the "Memorizers“ get rewarded, whilst the people who derive stuff from first principles are often seen as slow! For not being a parrot? Even the ones that can explain why certain things work have just parroted something generic as opposed to understanding the reasoning of particular maths concepts. I can't understand the idea of being given a formula and being told to memorize it. It pisses me off. People complain about AI being a pattern matcher yet that's what the majority of the population do. They pattern match schemas without understanding why the schema even works? It's an illusion that looks like understanding but it is not, you're merely following a set of instructions with wonky intuition, and get rewarded from it. This world isn't optimized for structural thinkers. It’s optimized for speed , the people who memorized shortcuts and pattern match their way through Maths to the normie look super smart! That sucks!

I don’t think that’s a better option unless you specifically want to run video and image models. For LLMs, Macs are genuinely cheaper , you can run large models that even a dual RTX 6000 Pro with 128gb of ram can’t touch, and for way less money. An M3 Ultra alone can run a 500B 8bit quantised model(near lossless and around 250b unqunatised , which last time I checked isn’t small. And notice how the meta now is MoE models, which is perfect for Macs. We haven’t even mentioned the price to watt and price to vram ratios, which are ridiculously cheap compared to Nvidia.

@TeksEdge Even if that true,RTX6000 will still a better option and it is almost one year old.

I don't know who wants to hear this, but buying an expensive MacBook Pro or Mac Studio to run small LLM models is useless. These models have low density of world knowledge and reasoning. It's much cheaper and faster to use an API. Maybe next year they will be useful, but not this year.

One interesting observation I’ve noticed is a lot of top founders did oddly strong at math from a young age.

Both run at the same rate however A wins in the magical world imagine A is at position 245 ahead of B at position 289 assuming these are positions in this magical world fun fact if you take the digits of their positions ignore the first digit of both and multiply the remaining digits like A 245 and B 289 you get 4 * 5 * 8 * 9 = 1440 then you add the starting digits you ignored so 1440 + (2 + 2) =1444 which is a perfect square 38 squared , take 38 multiply by 2 you get 76 reverse it and now it is 6 7 67
