Karolina Gembara is our new INDEX Scholar in Residence 💚 Throughout February, Karolina will explore the unprecedented presence of animals—particularly cats and dogs—in traditional news and social media coverage of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The Symposium is co-organised by the Center for Urban History (@CUH_Lviv), INDEX: Institute for Documentation and Exchange, the Max Weber Foundation (@webertweets), and Documenting Ukraine/IWM (@IWM_Vienna).

◻️Meet Yevhen Zakharchenko, a historian from Kharkiv, and the first INDEX resident. Yevhen will work on the project “`I Outlived the Nazis, I Will Outlive the Rashists’: The Second World War and the Holocaust in the Contemporary Ukrainian Discourse on the Russian-Ukrainian War.”
