(긴급 루머 펌) Model Q 프로젝트가 정식으로 부활했다 — 완전히 새로운 세대의 소형 컴팩트 SUV. 이전에 돌던 루머들이 맞아떨어진 듯하다. 바로 지난달만 해도 중국에서는 올해 저가형 Model 3나 Model Y는 출시하지 않을 것이라는 얘기가 나왔었다. 이유는 공급망에서 돈이 안 되기 때문. 그래서 중국에서는 차라리 더 작은 컴팩트 차량을 출시해야 공급망도 수익을 낼 수 있다는 논리다. 그리고 올해 중국에서는 신차 발표가 없을 거라는 말도 있었는데, 오늘 4월 9일, 월스트리트·젠원·로이터 세 곳에서 동시에 보도가 나왔다. 테슬라가 현재 중국에서 완전히 새로운 소형 보급형 SUV를 개발 중이라는 내용이다. 이 차량은 과거 내부 코드명 ‘Redwood’로 불리던 프로젝트, 즉 NV91, Model 2 혹은 Model Y Mini로 알려졌던 모델이다. 일론 머스크가 2025년 3분기 실적 발표 이후 방향을 확정하면서, 더 이상 ‘다운그레이드(축소판)’ 모델은 만들지 않고, CyberCab의 차세대 플랫폼을 기반으로 진짜 가성비 높은 엔트리 모델을 만들기로 했다. 예상 스펙: •전장 4,400mm •휠베이스 2,750mm •Model 3보다 약 15% 작음 •주행거리 400~450km •0→100km/h 약 5초 •목표 가격 약 15만 위안 진짜 ‘소형 괴물’이 온다. 이 차량은 CyberCab과 동일 플랫폼을 공유하며, 2024년에 개발된 ‘Unboxed Process’를 적용한다. 레고처럼 모듈화된 생산 방식으로, •공장 면적 40% 축소 •생산 비용 50% 절감 차체 역시 CyberCab 계열 구조를 사용하며, •48V 저전압 시스템 •알루미늄 백본 + 폴리우레탄 복합 소재 •가볍고 단단하며 충돌 에너지 흡수 성능 강화 •색상이 소재 자체에 포함되어 도장 공정(페인트 공장)까지 생략 또한 상하이 연구소에서 과거에 설계했던 소형 유선형 Model Y 콘셉트를 기반으로, •넉넉한 2열 공간 •CyberCab급 인포테인먼트 시스템 이 적용될 예정이다. 출시 전략은 중국 우선 → 이후 유럽/미국으로 확대, Model YL과 동일한 방식으로 진행될 가능성이 크다. 일정: •첫 시제품 테스트: 2026년 하반기 •양산 시작: 2027년 상반기 (상하이 공장 대량 생산) 배터리는 약 53kWh급 LFP(리튬인산철) 배터리, 중국 생산 → 글로벌 판매.

The Cortex 2.0 data center (Optimus University) continues to make progress, with crews preparing the 2nd part of the Megapack installation with platforms, beams, scaffolding & more ahead of Megapack arrival. Once completed, there will be around 250 +/- Megapacks at this one installation and will be in addition to the 140 other Megapacks already at Giga Texas! The 2nd part of the cooling system is also seeing progress, with crews assembling all 6 of the fan superstructure compartments on the prepared foundation while also installing the water cooling pipes, manifolds and bunkers. There is a new permit that was filed that extends the existing Onsite Water Reuse System (OWRS) permit from Austin Water to include not only the main factory & the Cortex 1 cooling system, but now Cortex 2.0. This is for: • Rainwater collection & reuse (from the huge factory roofs) • Condensate collection & reuse (water that drips from air-conditioning/HVAC units) The cooling-tower blowdown recycling piece will be filed separately Purpose of the water recycling: Tesla is capturing rainwater and AC condensate to feed cooling systems and other non-potable needs on-site. The goal is to slash municipal water use by tens of millions of gallons per year, cut costs, meet Austin’s strict water-conservation rules for big industrial sites, and support Tesla’s sustainability targets
