We are saddened by the passing of former New York Yankees broadcaster John Sterling. Through his unique style and passionate play-by-play calls, Sterling endeared himself to generations of players and fans as radio voice of the Yankees from 1989 to 2024. His signature punctuation of Yankees victories included calling the final out of five World Series championships. Sterling’s seven-decade broadcasting career also included stints with the Atlanta Braves and Hawks, the New York Nets and Islanders, and the Baltimore Bullets. He was 87 years old.

@773rc @Kurrco This is not a federal case. But you pay taxes to employ prosecutors that are trained to craft a case to meet their burden of proof. Criminal cases are tried in the court of law, not public opinion. Your taxes also pay the valuable court staff and other workers that help out.

I think we can all aspire to hold journalists to a higher standard across the board. That includes with accountability in this case also - I don’t care about perceived double standards.

Yea, he really needs someone like Stu to put him in his place at times like this. My minutes have severely dwindled listening. She was an NFL insider, and if she wasn't having an affair with one of the 32 men who control such a large entity, then she could keep her job and be defiant on her innocence. Logically speaking, if the above is false and she did have an affair, then all of her reporting is suspect when it pertains to trades, drafts, etc.
