International Parliamentary Network for Education retweetledi

Tomorrow marks the start of a new school year in Afghanistan. For the fifth year in a row, girls are still banned from secondary education.
This is not just a policy , it is the loss of a generation to repression and politics.
Recently, I spoke at the European Parliament for two consecutive day during a meeting of the EU parliament delegation for Afghanistan chaired Raquel García Hermida‑van der Walle MEP, and sub committee on human rights chaired by @MounirSatouri
I highlighted how the Taliban’s return to power continues to affect not only Afghanistan, but also regional stability and international security.
I also emphasized the urgent need to hold those responsible for human rights violations accountable. International mechanisms must be used to protect the voiceless before discrimination becomes normalized, Europe is the content people look at and look towards in upholding principles of Human Rights.
The world must not keep silence. I also called on the OIC and GCC to take every measure to stop the Taliban on misrepresenting our religion to justify their denial of girls’ education and fundamental rights. Education is not against our religion. Discrimination is.
We must stand for the rights, dignity, and future of Afghanistan and its people ,especially its girls , before it is too late.
