Again, at the line of association and dissociation. Being forced by the government to interact with those we believe will negatively impact our lives, to allow them onto our private property and provide them our services is not something with which I can agree. If you were told you could not discriminate between the person with a criminal history and the person without one for who you were allowed to hire to babysit your kid, would that be okay? You aren't choosing the person without the criminal history because you want to negatively affect the other, you're choosing the person because you believe it will lead to a better outcome for you and your child. If a private owner wants to be racist against me and only serve white or brown or black people, I'm okay with that. Either he is wrong to do so and will lose money and business to other owners who don't discriminate (or discriminate differently), or he is right and will avoid theft and unruly clientele and make greater profits. Let the free market show whether he is right or not. In a free society, people should have the right to be wrong.

Many young girls (especially autistic ones) fall prey to trans ideology because they're going through puberty and they subconsciously fear and want to hide from the sexual attention they're starting to get. It should also be noted that the explosion in popularity of adopting trans ideology coincides with the explosion of migrants from cultures that regularly prey on women (to the point where they have to dress like ninjas to avoid it). For many, becoming trans is the woke version of the burqa. It's to try to hide from predators.

The line between discrimination and discernment? Or the line between what discrimination is okay and what discrimination is not? For the former, I think there is no line; discrimination is inherently discernment. For the later, anyone business or organization receiving taxpayer funds should not be allowed to discriminate, as taxes are paid by many groups. Those who are wholly private entities should be allowed to decide who they do and do not serve or allow on their property for any reason they choose. Freedom of association should inherently include freedom of dissociation. What this doesn't mean, however, is the freedom to attack, oppress, exploit, or anything else that is de facto illegal. Everyone is treated as an individual, no one is provided special protections and no one is forced to interact with anyone they wish not to.

How did many in Canada end up hating a guy (Poilievre) with a gay father, married a refugee, and came from a humble middle-class background? But yet they love rich boy silver-spoon-fed (Trudeau) and Carney, the rich banker?

In my career defending academic freedom and free speech, I never saw anything become as immediately radioactive as views that ran counter to the narrative on trans issues. Papers were retracted, compelled speech was treated as normal, and people were canceled for saying things that would have sounded like common sense just a few years earlier. It seemed to become a kind of secular blasphemy overnight. And usually, that is a sign that the true believers know, at some level, that they are on shaky ground. @hoovlet

The promoters of “gender-affirming care” tried to quash scientific debate on its effects through name-calling and by designating as “settled science” the claim that it improves the mental health of dysphoric kids. It’s now clear why they feared open scientific inquiry.

There's no such thing as 'reverse discrimination', it's all just discrimination. And right now, it is free (even encouraged) to discriminate against some groups and not others. Men are discriminated against based on their immutable characteristics. Whites are discriminated against based on their immutable characteristics. Non-queer are discriminated against based on their immutable characteristics. Allowing individuals to choose who they do and do not associate with is not slavery. That is an absurd statement.

@SteJayLov @benappel Again, false. Just because you aren't aware of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. "Thinking about somebody besides yourself" is exactly what you're failing to do. People are discriminated against for all sorts of reasons, not just gays. x.com/i/grok/share/5…

No there not expecting representation. Activists are calling for it but no companies strive for a gay presence. You definitely pretend to understand because you clearly know nothing about gay rights or the struggle gay people have been through. But then, you would have to think about somebody else besides youself for a change.

@AKAjuanpa @LibertyCappy The 'intent to negatively affect them' is a qualifier you've added that isn't inherent in the act. We discriminate against good and bad choices all the time. It's about what we believe will lead to a better outcome for us, not about what we believe will negatively affect others

@IPretend2Know @LibertyCappy On the other hand, making choices is selecting something based on specific criteria. The problem with both is that if your choices are based on stereotypes rather than individual merit, your 'discernment' is simply a cover for prejudice.

All dialogue in Canada is now being reduced to ideology and nonsense, no matter how structured you attempt to be with your discourse. Me: "Canada needs to be productive in order to prosper economically." Radicalized Canadian: "You're a fascist. The only thing that will fix this country is communism." This was a literally an exchange with someone I know personally. It's wild the amount of polarisation and lack of self-awareness people exhibit. People will literally call you "extreme far right" and then launch a rebuttal with extreme far right ideology.
