The stall will operate till 24th July during Jagannath Yatra serving devotees attending the Chariot Festival. As part of the initiative, IREDA is distributing water and food to pilgrims, while also creating awareness among devotees on the adoption of renewable energy for sustainable development. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty said, "We are honoured to support the devotees during this auspicious festival. Our participation reflects IREDA's dedication to serving the community and promoting sustainability." Had a productive meeting with Assam CM @himantabiswa and appreciated the remarkable progress made by Assam under @PMSuryaGhar, driven by the visionary leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi. Urged the State to expedite implementation of the 1.8 lakh rooftop solar installations awarded under the ULA-led model. With the Central Government providing a higher subsidy of up to ₹85,000 per household for Assam and other North Eastern States under PM Surya Ghar, the State is well placed to accelerate #rooftopsolar adoption. Under the leadership of the CM, Assam has emerged as the best-performing state in the North East in household rooftop solar installations and is now among the leading performers nationally under PM Surya Ghar. We also discussed strengthening storage capacity in Assam through the convergence of schemes of the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, which will further enhance food security and support the effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).

𝐁𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐌𝐃, 𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐀 Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), IREDA, today assumed additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA). The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has entrusted him with the additional charge for three months, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. Dr. Mohanty has been serving as Director (Finance) of IREDA since October 12, 2023, and as the company's Chief Financial Officer since October 16, 2023. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce along with master's degrees in Philosophy (Commerce) and Public Administration from Utkal University, Odisha. He also holds a master's degree in commerce from Delhi University, a Bachelor of Law from Utkal University, and a Doctorate in Philosophy in Commerce from the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar. Before joining IREDA, he headed the Smart Metering Division at REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) and served as Senior General Manager (Finance and Accounts) at REC Limited. With over 27 years of experience across IREDA, REC, CESCO and GRIDCO, Dr. Mohanty brings rich experience in project financing, renewable energy and power sector development. The event, organized in collaboration with MNRE and SECI, was observed with this year's global theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," highlighting yoga's role in promoting mobility, longevity and holistic well-being across every stage of life. The event was graced by Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy; Shri Mayank Tewari, Additional Secretary, MNRE; Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, IREDA; Shri Akash Tripathi, Managing Director, SECI; Shri Anupam Kumar, Joint Secretary, MNRE; and senior officials of MNRE, IREDA and SECI. (IREDA) today held its 23rd Stakeholders' Interaction Meet in New Delhi, chaired by Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director, with active participation from 110 borrowers and business partners across the renewable energy value chain. Addressing the gathering, CMD Shri Das said that improving asset quality, which has helped bring down NPAs, mattered more than headline growth numbers. He called for a collaborative approach among lenders and developers to scale up emerging segments like battery storage and green hydrogen and its derivatives and assured continued efforts to provide loans to renewable energy developers at competitive rates and improve loan turnaround time. Several Small Hydro Power developers discussed issues about high insurance premiums and the challenges posed by natural calamities in Himachal Pradesh and other states over the past year. Reaffirming its continued commitment to the sector's development, IREDA's leadership reiterated that IREDA would continue to provide suggestions to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and other government institutions from time to time. The meet also reviewed stakeholder feedback and reiterated the need for borrowers to maintain high corporate governance standards. (IREDA), today participated in a panel discussion on "PSU Leaders' Vision: Drafting India's Growth Story Towards 2047" at the 9th National PSU Summit held in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, Shri Das emphasized that India's journey to achieving the Viksit Bharat vision of becoming a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047 is fundamentally an energy story. He stated that green finance is critical to India's energy security, industrial competitiveness and reduced import dependence. He noted that India's total power sector investment requirement is estimated at Rs. 50 lakh crore by 2032 and Rs. 200 lakh crore by 2047 and that development finance institutions must work to de-risk emerging sectors and mobilise broader commercial capital. Shri Das drew attention to the dispatchability gap as the next critical challenge. While India has achieved 53.7% non-fossil installed capacity, non-fossil sources account for only 29.2% of actual generation. This makes storage solutions and grid flexibility essential priorities going forward. He underlined that achieving Viksit Bharat requires development that is both economically strong and environmentally sustainable, with clean air, affordable energy and public wellbeing as equally important measures of progress alongside GDP growth.
