“I might be retiring from active military service today, but I’m by no means retiring from my love for our dear country, Nigeria. I remain a soldier at heart & a patriot ever loyal to the constitution & sovereignty of our great nation.” General Christopher G. Musa, OFR (Rtd)

Today, I presided over the 39th regular management meeting of the Nigeria Integrated Water Resources Management Commission. This marks the second Management meeting under my stewardship as Executive Director. The meeting is crucial for reviewing monthly activities of each department and unit within the Commission. It also serves as a platform for management staff to align with my agenda, dubbed the "PACE Agenda". I unveiled the PACE Agenda earlier last week during a town hall meeting with general staff of the Commission. The PACE agenda, which represents Professionalism, Adeptness, Consistency, and Excellence, embodies my utmost commitment to propel NIWRMC to unprecedented heights, ensuring effective service delivery within the water sector as a national regulator. Signed Dr. Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria Executive Director/CEO NIWRMC

Taraba Governor Agbu Kefas Officially Registers as APC Member, Receives Party Card Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has formally registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was presented with his official membership card on Sunday. The registration took place at the Government House in Jalingo, where Governor Kefas was joined by prominent political figures, including the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, former Speaker Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, and Hon. Danladi Baido. Speaking after receiving his membership card, Governor Kefas explained that the move was in the best interest of governance and party unity in Taraba State. He noted that while a grand defection ceremony, previously postponed from November due to national security concerns, will be announced later, this registration allows him to fully participate in APC activities.

We had the honour of commissioning the newly renovated Imam Malik Jumu’at Mosque, Minanata — a significant project that underscores our administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting Islamic values, preserving our religious heritage, and providing a conducive environment for worship and learning across Sokoto State. We extend our profound appreciation to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his vision and legacy in establishing this mosque during his tenure as Governor as well as the commissioning. His foresight continues to inspire our collective efforts toward community development and spiritual upliftment. Our administration remains steadfast in its resolve to enhance Islamic infrastructure, strengthen unity, and promote moral and spiritual growth among our people. -AAS

Yesterday in Kebbi, I joined my esteemed colleagues, Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for a strategic closed-door meeting focused on strengthening inter-state collaboration, advancing our shared development agenda, and consolidating the gains of good governance across the federation. Our deliberations centred on deepening party unity, enhancing policy synergy, and ensuring that the ideals of progressive leadership continue to deliver tangible benefits to our citizens. We examined key areas of governance where coordinated efforts can accelerate socio-economic growth, foster inclusivity, and promote peace and stability across our states. As leaders entrusted with the mandate of our people, we remain resolute in our collective pursuit of economic inclusion, security, and sustainable development, guided by transparency, accountability, and the vision of a more prosperous Nigeria. Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to service, partnership, and the enduring values that define our great party, the All Progressives Congress. -AAS

Today at plenary, I joined my colleagues in the House of Representatives to pay a special tribute to the late former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Agunwa Anaekwe, OFR, who served between 1992 and 1993. As I reflected on his life and service, I was reminded of a man who not only served this nation with distinction but helped shape the moral foundation of parliamentary leadership in Nigeria. At the young age of 36, Chief Anaekwe carried the weight of our democracy on his shoulders during the Third Republic. He led with calmness, conviction, and an unyielding belief that while power may be transient, principle must remain permanent. Though his tenure was brief, It still stands as a lasting reference point in our democratic evolution, teaching us that politics is not an occupation, but a calling, a mission to advance the public good. His legacy of integrity, unity, and devotion to the national interest will forever be remembered by this House and indeed, by the nation. His gavel may have fallen for the last time, yet his example continues to call us to order, of diligence, and selfless service. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May the Almighty grant them comfort and strength in this moment of grief, and may Chief Agunwa Anaekwe’s soul continue to rest in perfect peace.

At 60, I can only look back and give thanks for life, health, family, and the grace that has guided every step of this journey. These six decades have been filled with lessons, service, and experiences that continue to shape who I am today. Through it all, God’s hand has remained steady, and for that, I am truly grateful. This milestone became even more meaningful with the launch of my two new books, which reflect a lifetime of thought, learning, and commitment to public service and nation-building. Sharing those works at this point in my life felt symbolic, a way of giving back to the society that has given me so much. To my family, friends, colleagues, and all who celebrated with me, sent messages, or offered prayers, thank you. Your love and kindness made this moment even more special. May God bless you all abundantly. #AOS60
