🕊️🇦🇷 The commemoration by trade unions of the 50th anniversary of Argentina’s military coup is not only about honouring the past — it’s about learning from it. 📅 In 1976, the military junta brutally crushed activism, dismantled workers’ power, targeted unions, and silenced dissent. ⚠️ Today, a new threat is emerging: a billionaire-driven assault on democracy. Governments may rise through elections instead of coups, but the objective remains the same — weaken workers’ voices and concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few. ✊ In 1983, trade unions played a key role in ending the dictatorship. Il 28 marzo sarà una giornata di mobilitazione mondiale convocata dalla rete americana No Kings contro la torsione autoritaria, l’attacco alla democrazia e al multilateralismo, e il caos globale, provocati dalla politica di Trump. Questa giornata viene ripresa dai movimenti per la pace, contro il riarmo e le politiche repressive che attraversano i continenti. In Italia il 28 marzo costituirà la convergenza delle campagne che hanno caratterizzato nell’autunno scorso le piazze contro le guerre, la corsa al riarmo e i decreti sicurezza del governo Meloni. La giornata rappresenterà anche la prosecuzione della grande mobilitazione internazionale della Global Sumud Flotilla per rompere l’embargo umanitario a Gaza, del movimento “Donna Vita Libertà” a sostegno delle rivolte pacifiche contro il regime degli ayatollah in Iran e delle reti di sostegno a richiedenti asilo e migranti. La CGIL, coerentemente con l’impegno per la pace e le posizioni assunte contro le guerre e la politica di riarmo, a difesa della Costituzione e dei diritti umani universali, condizioni fondamentali per la tutela nel lavoro, nuove politiche industriali e per il contrasto alla precarietà, conferma la propria partecipazione alla giornata internazionale del 28 marzo. Mai come oggi è fondamentale contrastare il disegno repressivo e autoritario che minaccia la libertà, la democrazia e i diritti delle persone, a partire dalle donne il cui corpo è troppo spesso usato come campo di battaglia. Corteo a Roma dalle ore 14.00 con partenza da Piazza della Repubblica e arrivo in Piazza San Giovanni.
