This is not how Alaskan politics works and I’m desperately asking outsiders to understand this. The left v right divide is completely different in this state. This is not just a matter of population in one city. Anchorage *means* something different here and the politics there are different. It’s not even the capital. Now that doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. In the age of social media, going somewhere doesn’t just influence the people on the ground. When I say Scott should go to another city it’s not because I’m a boohooing rural dweller. It’s because I understand Alaskan optics. When I say Scott should invest time outside of Anchorage it’s because going to a small town means something to ALL OF THEM and a decent portion of the city dwellers. Those Anchorage residents are often from Kake. Their mom likes in Savoonga. This is optics. Their dad is a commercial fisherman. Understanding how Alaska works is key to understanding how to win here. Whoever planned the itinerary of Anchorage, Palmer, Fairbanks has not given enough thought to optics in my most humble unasked for opinion.
The Lost Fountain@LostFountain

@luinalaska People do not know that places like Sitka (about 8,500 people) is like th 5th or 6th largest city in Alaska. To rule AK, all you need is Anchorage. It is sad too, because they do not represent all of Alaska.

@norbu_tyle23940 @luinalaska Every bit of voting information and Alaskans perspectives is very important. It’s all about educating all of our voters. If the Supreme Court can rule in favor of 1 day voting and not allowing ballots to be counted 2-3 weeks after Election Day, that is a huge for Alaskans.

@ITrees5756 @luinalaska The “rural” Alaska vote has traditionally voted with Southeast Alaska to overcome the Anchorage to Fairbanks vote. It is not always about party. Murkowski is the daughter of a banker. Not exactly with the people.

@Historiana_True @luinalaska @OKeefeMedia Yes, I am pretty sure they know whom they are voting for. The possibility of losing federal dollars is a real concern for Alaskan communities, as well as Tribal entities. Look at the amount of non-profits that are in Alaska.

@ITrees5756 @luinalaska After watching @OKeefeMedia video about the dems using the homeless to "vote", I don't think Murky actually has the native vote. We could be looking at massive election fraud on a grand scale. Do the villages KNOW that they vote for Murkowski??

@koumiss Murkowski has always taken her voters for granted. She wants my vote she needs to care about the timber industry and the marine highway and not just when her buddies are profiting.

Time is short and precious, but I would presumptuously but strongly implore some time and energy be spent outside of these places. Juneau? Alaska is not Fairbanks, Palmer, and Anchorage. Alaska is also Unalaska. Sitka. Utqiagvik. Bethel. Ketchikan. Urban Alaska matters. So do we.
MAGA 🇺🇸 Richelle Belle@richelle_oneill

@luinalaska @ScottPresler I'm well aware. Scott follows me. This has been in the works for almost a year. Fairbanks, Palmer, Anchorage. That's the plan.

@luinalaska Which State receives the most federal dollars? It’s Alaska. Which community in Alaska receives the most non-profit monies from those federal tax dollars? NGO’s? Well it’s right here in S.E. Alaska, where the herring roe get their wiggle on in a few weeks.

Scott, We hear nonstop about Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R – in office since 2002). But almost nothing about Sen. Dan Sullivan (R – serving since 2015). 👉🏻 Dan is up for reelection this year, and he votes with MAGA/Trump 95-100% of the time. (Lisa at about 70-75%). 👉🏻Dan's major opponent: Democrat Mary Peltola (former AK U.S. Rep 2022-2025). Recent polls show a dead heat or her slightly ahead! Democrats are quietly pouring money in and see this as one of their best pickup chances. Minor candidates in the mix: Dustin Darden (R), Richard Grayson (Green/perennial), and a few others. Not really "in the race". So to speak. This one is worth mentioning to people while you're there!

My fave is the one family they pretend is super remote and it’s right by Juneau. Port Protection is proper remote in my book. They have to boat to us to stock up they get a pass.

@ScottPresler @ChairWarfield @ScottPresler We need to pass the save Act and hopefully today the Supreme Court will rule in Americas favor of one day voting and counting ballots. Alaskans know how to get photo ID, and passports. Super basic.

@ScottPresler @ChairWarfield @ScottPresler wait until the snow is gone. All of Alaska, and remember we are the largest State in the country, are having a very late Winter snow storm. It’s a mess right now. Ranked Choice Voting won by a fraction after counting ballots close to 3 weeks after Election Day.

As a public service for all the folks pretending to care about interior Alaskan access, I will share the actual situation with relevant contacts. If you are in the Bethel area the following is for you. It feels to me as though our leaders would use this region as political pawns. I will not have it. So let’s talk ID, passports, logistics. We are not helpless. We are resourceful. As for passports, currently the location for photographs if you need them is: 460 Ridgecrest Dr in Bethel Call ahead at 907-543-1805 You will need an ID and birth certificate. A replacement can be ordered online at vitalchek and mailed to you for the birth certificate and the online DMV Alaska portal will mail you a replacement ID. The DMV and polling location are both located at 300 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy. Their number is 907-543-2771. The city clerk is responsible for the election process. Let’s talk about registering to vote. If you have questions you can call, stop at 300 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy, mail to PO Box 1388, or call 907-543-1384. The person responsible is the city clerk. Their email is cityclerk at cityofbethel dot net. This is also who you contact with special needs requests regarding voting. The city clerk needs at least 24 hours before the vote occurs to make accommodations for your needs. They can be contacted for ballots, questions, issues. General questions can go to electionsr4 at Alaska dot gov. The regional number in Nome is 907-443-5285. As for air travel, everyone I’ve spoken to in the region is aware of how this works. But in case you are not: The Bethel airport serves roughly 50 villages. Regional airlines that travel routinely to the villages and can be booked online include Ryan, Fox, Grant, Yute. Obtaining a passport and ID if it needs to be done on location can be done the next travel opportunity to Bethel, for example for medical. This happens frequently for elders. Combining these should be a priority. Talk to your family members about registration to vote and identification. It is not less important for us as rural voters. It matters that our voices are heard. We can be part of the solution and not pawns to be used on a national stage. I want every legal vote in Alaska to count. I do not care who you vote for, I care that you vote.

@atensnut @atensnut can you please go over and follow @luinalaska She’s doing the heavy lifting educating those on X about how ridiculous Lisa Murkowski’s “Stormin Norman” the Senate floor was. She embarrassed us Alaskans, and shocker, she lied 🤥

I’m a voting proxy for my daughter who is a kuskokwim shareholder by birth. I assure you I would fight this legislation personally if I thought Lisa Murkowski wasn’t using them as pawns in a much larger political fight. Lisa Murkowski doesn’t give a shit about interior villages now and never has prior. If she did give a shit she’s choosing an interesting time to get loud about it. If anyone in these villages is legitimately unable to ever leave their village (extremely unlikely) and isn’t registered now but wants to be I will personally help them. How’s that? I deeply care about services in the region and would not stand for a voter there to be disenfranchised. I also won’t stand for them to be used as pawns and spoken about like they are cave people when they are quite literally some of the most resourceful and resilient people on earth who have been traveling to larger hubs for thousands of years. My daughter’s people knew how to get out of her village and find open water before Lisa Murkowski’s people even dreamed of planes.

@BrianPh58852949 @luinalaska Nahhh…she would be giving up paradise. When Alan Gross was running for House Rep. for Alaska in D.C. when his team would call me for support, I told them I loved him too much to send him to that filthy swampy godless arena. He is my friend, and friends don’t want harm to come

@4theturnstyles @Flirtcheap @RealJMPeterman Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, Barrow, and Dutch Harbor have Alaska Airline jet service. They too are remote Alaska communities. Let’s add in the North Slope just for giggles. We all are very capable of getting photo ID, Real ID & passports.

@4theturnstyles @RealJMPeterman She's in a town with less than 1,400 residents, 1 gas station, 1 stop light, and only accessible by ferry and seaplane. How small does a town have to be before you'd call it remote? Do you feel in any way ideologically ridiculous trying to pretend its a bustling metropolis?
