The viral “₹0 tax on ₹4L stock + ₹2Cr MF gains via family gifting” post is classic rage-bait. Sounds genius, but contains major mistakes: 1. Gifting shares to wife? Clubbing applies u/s 64. Gains taxed in husband’s hands. Wife’s ₹1.25L exemption doesn’t help. 2. Only gifting to sister works (no clubbing). So the “zero tax” claim on stocks is wrong. 3. Gifting MFs to mother for Section 54F (to bypass 2-house rule) looks like a colourable device. GAAR can ignore it, tax the son + penalties. Smart planning is fine. Pre-planned artificial structures purely to evade tax? High risk of scrutiny. Always consult a CA. WhatsApp tax gurus can be expensive 😅 #TaxPlanning #IncomeTaxIndia

What a satisfying as well worrying sight! Satisfying— Illegal immigrant Bangladeshis are now fleeting Bandra, Mumbai, Bandra, Mumbai after anti-encroachment demolition drive. Worrying— They'll go to other States now. Which States will 'Shelter' them Now in your opinion?

The NEET paper leak would probably have stayed buried forever if a school teacher from Sikar had not refused to stay silent. Shashikant Suthar, a chemistry teacher from Rajasthan, was shown a “guess paper” by one of his neighbors after the NEET exam. That PDF had reportedly been circulating in Telegram groups for weeks. Out of curiosity, he matched it with the real exam paper. The result was terrifying. Around 140 questions were identical. Same sequence. Same wording. Even punctuation marks matched. He rushed to the local police station expecting immediate action. Nobody listened. No FIR. No urgency. No investigation. But instead of giving up, he kept escalating the matter emailing the NTA, PMO, President of India, and CBI while continuously raising the issue online. Only then did the system move. Rajasthan Police formed a Special Operations Group. What initially looked like a small leak soon exploded into a nationwide examination scam connected across multiple states. The case eventually reached the CBI. NEET was cancelled. And investigators uncovered an organized network of professional paper leak operators. This entire scandal was exposed because one ordinary teacher decided that remaining silent was not an option. Sometimes one honest citizen is more powerful than an entire broken system.

Shocking. Racist. Derogatory. Norway’s largest broadsheet newspaper Aftenposten brazens it out with a shocking cartoon depicting Indian PM @narendramodi as a Snake Charmer with the headline: “A sneaky and slightly annoying man”. They can’t digest India’s rise and success. Pity!

I am amongst the voice of the opposition in INDIA & everyday I attack the government on television & social media, am severely critical of the PM & his ministers and no one has ever taken any action against me. I find it offensive you compare my country's press freedom with Emirates or Cuba ! Sure all INDIAN's would want even greater freedom of speech but your comparison of freedom of media in INDIA being comparable with regimes that police FoS is absolutely false & unfortunate! Wish you luck!! @HelleLyngSvends

Primeminister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question, I was not expecting him to. Norway has the number one spot on the World Press Freedom Index, India is at 157th, competing with Palestine, Emirates & Cuba. It is our job to question the powers we cooperate with.

THE MEA TOOK THE BAIT. IT SHOULDN'T HAVE. The question was never India’s to answer. If a Norwegian journalist asks, “Why should we trust India?”, that is fundamentally a question for Norway’s leadership. There's no need for India to seek validation from anyone on this account. Too often, the Indian establishment still craves affirmation from legacy Western institutions. That colonial reflex needs to end. India has nothing to prove.

Manoj Madhusudhanan took a ₹1.86 crore home loan from ICICI Bank. As collateral, he handed over his original property documents. Every homebuyer does this. You have no choice. ICICI Bank sent those documents to their storage facility in Hyderabad via courier. Somewhere on that journey — Bangalore to Hyderabad — the documents vanished. Gone. Originals. Irreplaceable. When Manoj found out, ICICI Bank had one answer: it was the courier company's fault. Not ours. He went to the Banking Ombudsman. They told ICICI to publish a public notice about the loss and pay him ₹25,000 for the trouble. Twenty-five thousand rupees. For losing the original documents to a ₹1.86 crore property. Manoj sent a legal notice. ICICI denied any mistake. He went to the NCDRC. The apex consumer court looked at the facts. The bank had taken custody of the documents. The bank had chosen the courier. The bank could not hand that liability to a third party and walk away. ICICI Bank — India's second-largest private bank, ₹9 lakh crore in assets — was held liable. Ordered to obtain reconstructed certified copies, issue an indemnity bond, and pay ₹25 lakh in compensation. One loan. One lost file. One bank that blamed the courier. Save this — if your bank loses your original property documents, they cannot blame their courier agent. The documents were in their custody. The liability is theirs. File at your district consumer forum. The law is on your side. (Source: Manoj Madhusudhanan vs. ICICI Bank Ltd. | NCDRC | LiveLaw, September 2023)

૧૯૭૦માં Milton Friedman નામના એક મહાન અર્થશાસ્ત્રીએ એક બહુ પ્રસિદ્ધ વાત કહી હતી: “There ain't no such thing as a free lunch” aka TANSTAAFL.

We went to buy a new family car today. Just requested the showroom to deliver it before 17 May because Malmas starts after that. And the salesman literally mocked us for following our traditions. He said: You people are educated yet still believe in these things? Thousands buy cars during Malmas too. Imagine insulting a customer just because he respects his culture. My father stayed calm and said: Being modern does not mean abandoning traditions. But the salesman kept arguing. So we cancelled the booking right there and took our money back. India is becoming so modern that now people feel ashamed of their own culture, festivals and beliefs. Respecting traditions is now called backwardness. This mentality is more dangerous than illiteracy.

A Genuine Plea for Rationalisation of TDS Rates under Sections 194T ( Rationalisation means Reductions here) Need to reconsider the present 10% TDS structure under Section 194T – TDS on Partner Remuneration & Partner Interest ( even Section 194A , 194J and 194I has remained 10% so they also need to be reduced in same logic explained below) _________________________________ Section 194T — is Hurting Small Partnership Firms and their partners badly Firm pays ₹15L (remuneration + interest) → must deposit ₹1.50L TDS immediately ( as 10% TDS rates u/s 194T) → massive working capital blocked. Small partnership firm like this with limited liquidity may be forced to immediately arrange funds and deposit substantial TDS merely because remuneration and interest are credited in books. On the other hand- Partners ( who are owners of business) may ultimately have NIL tax liability ( as total income may be 12 lakhs below under the New Regime due to slab benefits and rebate provisions in MOST cases.) So firm arrange funds today , blocks in terms of TDS → partner claims refund months later → Revenue gains NOTHING. Suggestion to consider in Next Budget: ✅ Reduce from 10% → to 1% or 2% and ✅ Raise the limit i.e. Higher threshold for 194T EXPLAINED WHOLE ISSUE in detail below @IncomeTaxIndia

ICAI has made a joke of its curriculum, its members and the students. First one president removed 2 important subjects Costing & Law from CA finals, introduced IBS which is a joke in the name of a subject making it practically 5 subjects from 8 in finals. Then another president introduced exams 3 times a year from 2 times a year. One president declared 30 lac CA is needed & diluted the pass percentage to 15-30% in CA finals. Then another president reversed exam frequency from 3 to again 2 times a year. Now another president is aiming to bring back the curriculum to 8 subjects. All this in the name of leaving footprint by each president. Frequent overhauls like these create uncertainty for students, dilute consistency for members, and make the profession appear directionless. Earlier, ICAI reforms used to be gradual, long-term, and carefully thought through. Now, every new President seems eager to leave behind a “legacy move,” even if it means reversing the decisions of the previous term. A professional course like CA cannot function on shifting philosophies every couple of years. Stability, consistency, and long-term vision matter far more than headline-grabbing reforms.
