@ATRightMovies Ned Beatty was also nominated and should have won for his one short scene in that movie. He always told young actors that no role is too small.

Beatrice Straight won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for NETWORK mostly for this scene. With just over five minutes of screen time as Louise Schumacher, she set a record for the shortest performance to win an acting Oscar.

@TheExtremeMusi1 Mick jagger was the best. After jagger everyone was a copy. Bono was a great one in his day. So many of these rock acts have been in their dotage longer than they were in their prime it’s hard to remember how great they were. Zoo TV was his last great moment.

@stonercoker In some regard I'll always give him a pass because the Stones are in a class all by themselves, but it's sad, they've been in their dotage far longer than in their prime. I prefer to remember them as they were, and their music sounds as fresh and vital as when it was new.

@DavidBowieGlam It’s not a list for real Bowie fans. Let’s Dance and Modern Love shouldn’t be on there. My own list would change in a daily basis.

I always find it very strange when ‘a top ten’ of David Bowie songs doesn’t include lesser known tracks. For example, Win, Sweet Thing, Five Years, Dollar Days, I’m Deranged, Bewlay Bros, Panic In Detroit, Stay, You’ve Been Around etc. Anyone agree with the top 10 on this video?

@AntiWokeMemes There are people with jobs and health insurance going bankrupt and losing everything if they get cancer or some other catastrophic health issue. Would this be covered? Who would pay for it, medicaide? Same with all of the treatments, therapy, drugs for this gender stuff.

@Noirchick1 They Shoot Horses, Don't They? A very grim and unpleasant movie, but it's truly incredible. A big hit when it came out in 1969, but unfortunately not widely seen today.

@seaghmacs @spooked75 @davec_NH Germany pretty much lost their chance to win at the very beginning on the Marne when the Schlieffen Plan failed. It became a 4 year stalemate, and the Germans could not compete with the combined resources of the Entente.

@spooked75 @davec_NH The United States declared war on Germany in April 1917. The Zimmerman telegram forced the US into WW1. The Germans wanted Mexico to attack the US and tie America down so we couldn't enter the European war. US troops didn't fully enter combat until the war's final months in 1918

Bullshit, you uneducated cunt. The US joined World War I two years before the war ended, after German unrestricted submarine warfare killed US citizens. The US joined World War II after Japan—Germany's ally—bombed Pearl Harbor. At no time prior to those events was the United States considering saving Europe. You didn't even bail anyone out. The UK and France had borne the brunt of the fighting and dying for four years in World War I by the time the US joined, and Germany was tiring of the war by then. In World War II, Germany saw the Western Front as a sideshow as it focused its best units and equipment on the Soviets in the east, whom they deemed the bigger threat. NATO, an alliance formed in 1949, did not exist from 1941 to 1945. NATO has invoked Article 5 only once—for the United States after it was attacked on September 11, 2001. The NATO mutual defense clause does not cover wars of aggression by its members. Oh, and Ukraine? A member of NATO's Partnership for Peace program? A nation that sent 6,000 soldiers to Iraq when Article 5 was invoked and lost troops there—literally bled for the United States. That Ukraine? There are no NATO troops on the ground fighting there, and there never have been. NATO also isn't supplying Ukraine or paying for a damn thing here. That's the EU and individual European nations. You clowns need to stop with this savior bullshit.

@Gaynotqueer1 It’s become a cottage industry of endless doctor and therapist bills. It’s a little goldmine for the medical profession. There’s no end game or conclusion just an open wallet for a lifetime of “treatments.” Who pays for all this? Insurance? Medicaide?

@CNviolations How many of them have jobs with real professional responsibilities? None of them ever seem happy or comfortable with themselves. I think it’s basically self loathing mixed with craving attention. None of what they say makes any sense. It’s sad really.

You're either trans or you're not. Those of us who aren't trans don't need a qualifier or any further description. I'm an adult female (human) not a male, and I refer to myself only as a woman - b/c that's what a woman is. My husband is an adult male, not a female and he refers to himself only as a man, b/c that's what a man is. So we already have language for "the default". Using the term "cis" makes us a subcategory of our own sex/gender, it's a way for people to make the claim "trans women are woman" and "trans men are men"

@molochofficial I think the predominant place social media now has in everyday life has taken what was a cultish dynamic centered on unstable people in a sort of social isolation (who attach themselves to fictional characters or celebrities) and has given them a very large stage to perform on

so my understanding based on recent observation is that a large swath of too-online teenagers interact with media primarily in the form of picking which actor or singer they like in a cast or group and then dedicating the rest of their lives to plaguing that person's coworkers
