I am the GAT member working on Akali and I can say with certainty she is easily my favorite character to play in the game.
I promise when you get to see more you will be blown away.
The 2XKO team will still continue working our hardest to make this game the best it can be.
This was at first a quote tweet, but I realize its more important to just have this be its own thing. Saying a fighting game is not casual friendly is not the same as saying fighting games are too hard for casuals.
But, let's not talk about gameplay =P
I think a huge problem is that as time has gone on, there has been less incentive (not more) to pick up a fighting game. Out of all the fighting games outside of sf6 and to a certain extent nrs games (for a different reason) theres not really a reason to play and learn 95% of them outside of "if you like it, play it".
Before you idiots jump on me, think about it. Why should 1 pickup/recommend fatal fury? Kof? Melty blood? Uniel? 2xko? Power rangers? Sailor moon fighters LOL. No real reason huh.
Outside of gameplay, what does the casual person want? Pretty lights, beautiful graphics (contrary to popular belief), different game modes, STORY MODE, customizable options, cool world building. Now, what do fighting games offer? Barely anything.
And I think you know where im gonna go with this now. Developers have become lazy. Developers failed at moving forward with the times. I love the characters and the games I play, because I already know so much about it/them. I learned over the years. From part 1 of the game to part 10. Im already invested. I went to arcades, and stood side by side with people. I read the booklets, and guides, and lore. I bought the art. But i also didnt have access to the internet. I didnt have a computer until i was 17. If i was 10 years younger you think id have chosen a fighting game? Hell no. Id be a pro league player.
Most fighting games are now legacy ips. And Its 10x harder than ever to fall in love with a character/world. Explaining anything to a newcomer is crazy af. But the sad part? The developers dont even bridge that gap. Stories are dumb af, and characters dont have real development anymore. Why the hell should anyone care?

Fatal fury/snk failed by thinking people would accept anything
Obscure anime games all failed, because they still live in 1999
With 2xko, I feel like everything from the creation of its name, to the firing of its people, has been a giant question mark.
Sf6 succeeds, because they made a complete product.
Nrs games are fun for what its worth, even if they drop the ball every time LOL. I still love what they did to my favorite character Reptile!!! And im always excited to play the story mode of whatever next game comes out.
Companies need to move forward with the times....... its 2026. The mobile looks and trash features just ain't gonna cut it anymore

@alo_hoops@HookGangGod@FgcWhyte Exactly and A ton of people I know (who play league but not fighting games) wanted to try it, but they didn't vibe with the roster. Obviously Riot can't release like 50 characters, but a solid 20 characters would have turned this game into top 1 for me.
@HookGangGod@FgcWhyte It feels like a majority of your issues comes from the lack of characters then either directly or indirectly. Which is fair obviously but hopefully over time it gets a lot better
All my DBFZ goats really moved onto 2xko. I think this game is monkey water but maybe I will play just to be able to see these fellas again. Miss the French dbfz players fr

@fixchargeblade@monsterhunter Charged sword cuts through omega savage. Extra Elemental proc to take its aggro. And you’re quick enough to avoid its attacks.
And its attacks are longer reaching than SnS, with the option to go into savage axe . Charged sword on CB is literally the best.
@monsterhunter These changes do nothing to fix how repetitive the Charge Blade feels. Charged sword, SAED, guard points and sword mode will still be useless. All these do is more safety when spamming the regular savage axe combos.
⚔️ Upcoming Weapon Balance Adjustments 🛡️
In Title Update 4, we're introducing balance adjustments for each weapon type. Here's a summary of our overall approach to the adjustments.
1. Upward Adjustments for Each Weapon Type
We are implementing upward adjustments (buffs) for all 14 weapon types, focusing especially on the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, and Bow, among others, with the aim of better utilizing the strengths of each weapon.
2. Upward Adjustments For Guarding Weapons
We've reviewed the overall performance of guarding and made adjustments to help hunters counter high-difficulty quests and monsters at 9★ and above. Hunters should find it easier to withstand monster attacks with guarding, opening up their hunts to more strategy and allowing for a more rewarding experience.

@hatipoglu_h The in context of 3.4, and nanooks gaze does not mean he becomes emanator at that point, especially because he gets absorbed in the end. The narrative wouldn’t make sense if the actual lord ravager iron tomb completes its goal.
@I_Dukes But that was Lygus’ doing. Nanook’s attention during Amphoreus had more to do with Phainon setting off a trail of destruction against destruction than Irontomb awakening. I’d argue Nanook was more intrigued by Phainon than assuming Lygus would utilize him in IT’s ascension.
@hatipoglu_h@hysxlens@ohlookitsrafa Up until 3.4, phainon was a “complete” component to irontombs ascension. Nanook’s gaze was not confiming him as emanator, more like a secret ingredient in completing the actualized emanator, irontomb.
@AkihaFaris@Sippint49186878@thekekvin Hoyo does this because a lot of people invest in reruns of older banners. So they need to make new banners compete with old banners at E2, E4… etc. They also make content harder. Content would be too easy otherwise.
Honkai: Star Rail, and it's a single-player gacha game with 0 competitive aspects about it.
