Unemployable. Unless you need a whisky taster. Been around a bit. Getting on a bit. Save NHS. End child poverty now. #NotSorry.

@KemiBadenoch @Conservatives You had already doubled VAT.

Rachel Reeves is hiking fuel duty at the worst possible time, punishing drivers with higher taxes as petrol prices spike.
@Conservatives froze fuel duty every year we were in office and we cut it in 2022.
We back drivers, that's why we'll keep fighting Labour's fuel duty hike.

@BackOnTopUTD @UtdXclusive In the days those players played they were vastly underpaid but the club was highly profitable. The club owes them not the current players.
English

@UtdXclusive It’s poor, but why don’t the players on their ridiculously high wages put an amount into it each month to help them later in life aswell.
Maybe they do already… 🤷🏼♂️
Who would miss £500 a month from a £150000 weekly wage, to help ex players.

🚨 NEW: Jim Ratcliffe withdrew United's annual £40K donation to the Association of Former Manchester United Players (AFMUP) as part of Ineos' cost-cutting measures. The AFMUP, founded in 1985, used this funding to stage dinners and golf days that raised over £2M for former players, families, & charities. The withdrawal has jeopardised the association's future, forcing the cancellation of two events last year due to venue & catering costs.
John Aston, 78, a key player in the 1968 European Cup win, recently suffered a stroke & remains in hospital. Former players raised £5K for a wheelchair, matched by the club, but the AFMUP lacks funds for further help. His wife reports the family is ineligible for government aid and must cover nurse visits at £80 each, 4 times daily, to bring him home. She is uncertain how they will manage these expenses. This case illustrates the ongoing difficulties faced by former players from earlier eras, despite their role in building the club's legacy.

Is it as appalling and shocking as these Robert?

Robert Jenrick
, currently serving as the Reform UK MP for Newark and Shadow Chancellor (appointed February 2026), has been central to several high-profile political controversies. His career has been marked by accusations of bias in planning, breaches of lockdown rules, and most recently, a dramatic defection from the Conservative Party.
UK Parliament +3
Major Political Controversies
Westferry Printworks Planning Scandal (2020): As Housing Secretary, Jenrick unlawfully approved a £1bn housing development for Conservative donor Richard Desmond. The approval was rushed through just 24 hours before a new council tax would have cost Desmond £40m. Jenrick later admitted "apparent bias" after it emerged they had exchanged private texts and sat together at a fundraising dinner.
Defection to Reform UK (2026): In January 2026, Jenrick was sacked from the Conservative Shadow Cabinet by Kemi Badenoch after she discovered "irrefutable evidence" he was secretly plotting to defect to Reform UK. He officially joined Nigel Farage's party hours later, describing the Conservatives as "rotten" and "broken".
COVID-19 Lockdown Breaches (2020): During the first national lockdown, Jenrick faced calls to resign after travelling 150 miles to a second home in Herefordshire and 40 miles to visit his parents. He defended the trips as essential for delivering medicine, despite government guidance at the time to "stay at home".
Asylum Centre "Cartoon" Controversy (2023): While serving as Immigration Minister, Jenrick ordered staff at a Kent asylum reception centre for children to paint over murals of Disney characters (including Mickey Mouse), arguing they were "not age-appropriate" for teenagers. The move was widely condemned as performative and cruel.
Donation from "Shell" Company (2024): During his 2024 Conservative leadership bid, Jenrick accepted a £75,000 donation from Spott Fitness, a company with no employees and significant debts. This sparked questions about the ultimate source of the funds.
Misleading Parliament on Modern Slavery (2023): The UK Statistics Authority formally criticised Jenrick for claiming 71% of foreign offenders were "claiming to be modern slaves" to avoid deportation, when the actual figure was closer to 20%.
BBC +7
Other Notable Incidents
Expenses and Funding: He was forced to repay travel expenses after claiming for both petrol and rail tickets for the same trip, and faced criticism for awarding "levelling up" funds to his own relatively affluent constituency.
Driving Disqualification (2023): He was banned from driving for six months and fined over £1,600 for speeding on the M1.
Handsworth Integration Comments (2025): Jenrick drew sharp criticism for claiming he "didn't see another white face" in Handsworth, Birmingham, framing it as an example of failed integration.

@BonardiDebi @EileenforCO Socialist policies are currently enacted in the best countries in the world where none of those things occur. Norway, Finland, Switzerland etc.
English

Ask a Venezuelan.
Socialism is not about equality. It is about control. You are given just enough to survive, never enough to thrive, while a small elite converts the labor and obedience of the many into wealth and power. Ninety-nine percent are kept alive. Only a fraction are allowed to dream.
Sometimes restoring a people’s dignity and basic rights is worth the cost.
This officer should have listened to the Commander in Chief before speaking out. Reckless claims that America is there to “steal” what is not hers are dangerous and irresponsible. That kind of rhetoric undermines mission clarity and deserves formal accountability.
The mission was stated clearly: restore Venezuela’s oil infrastructure by bringing in professionals, ensure the American people are not burdened with the cost, prevent cartel and mafia forces from reclaiming control, and then leave once stability is secured.
That is not occupation.
That is not theft.
That is neighbors helping neighbors in need—and then going home.

@Keir_Starmer Will you support the death squads when they start their work ?

The UK has long supported a transition of power in Venezuela. We regarded Maduro as an illegitimate President and we shed no tears about the end of his regime.
I reiterated my support for international law this morning. The UK government will discuss the evolving situation with US counterparts in the days ahead as we seek a safe and peaceful transition to a legitimate government that reflects the will of the Venezuelan people.

@NigelLaw526509 @drearycontent @AlexTaylorNews A country that can hold such a referendum at all is clearly running itself. EU is a trade organisation which makes agreements to cut historic trade barriers. Brexit and Trump are costing UK jobs by the thousand.

Joking apart - a reminder that no one knows who killed Charlie Kirk or what their motives were. This man is a deluded extremist who needs referring to Prevent.

Instead of bringing the country together, Trump delivered the most divisive and disgraceful speeches by any president in the aftermath of someone’s death.
He dishonors Charlie Kirk’s name by turning his passing into a rallying cry to smear Democrats.
He had no such outrage when far-right extremists assassinated Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband. Deplorable.
