My statement on the announcement that Hamas will disarm ⬇️

The Scottish government treat Edinburgh as a cash cow whilst they ensure it’s the lowest funded council in Scotland per head.

Such a crucial message. 🧑‍🎓👷‍♀️👩‍🏭 University is a great option for many young people but it should never be seen as the only positive destination from school. In Scotland we need the same radical review - investing in colleges and apprentices, not cutting them as the SNP has done.

Why does Scotland need so many politicians?? We have 3.6 x more politicians per head of population than England. The Scottish civil service has tripled since devolution and we are now saddled with an ever growing welfare bill and a completely bloated public sector! The question Scots should be asking is: Has devolution with all the extra layers of bureaucracy and cost to the taxpayer delivered better outcomes for ordinary Scots, or has Holyrood simply become an expensive, self-perpetuating disappointment that Scotland can no longer afford to treat as beyond criticism? We should be asking why debates about gender ideology, foreign policy, Net zero, Palestine and constitutional issues remain front and centre stage when concerns about healthcare, education, public infrastructure, economic growth and government accountability remain unresolved?

Can anyone HONESTLY say in Scotland that the SNP over the last 20 years have improved our lives. Can they honestly say education, housing, homelessness, drug deaths, SNHS, public services, transport etc have all improved with devolution. Can anyone honestly say the SNP have brought Scots together and haven’t divided us more than in our lifetime. Can anyone honestly say devolution has worked ? Not only is it a NO for independence but it’s a NO the SNP have not improved our lives in fact it’s got worse far worse. No more devolved powers and it’s a no to mayors in Glasgow or any other cities. If you want to bypass the Scottish government give the money and power to local councils who have been starved of funding by the SNP.

He’s only been in for 3 days and he’s already reduced bus fares and saved our pubs. People will still find fault with it but this is mint 👏

Keeping the public safe will always be my top priority. I have instructed my team to put a pause on the sentencing changes that were due to start in September. No prisoners will be let out under this policy until we have conducted an urgent review and done everything we can to minimise risk to the public.  Where changes are needed, I will not hesitate to make them.
