The issue with many Reform voters is that even if the economy grows, wages rise and immigration falls to the lowest level in decades, they still won’t be happy because the politics was never really about solutions, it was about anger, grievance and finding someone to blame. You can’t build a country on permanent outrage.

Keir Starmer: rejuvenates party from a huge loss to a record majority. Minimum wage and renters rights up, inflation down, growth up, NHS waiting lists down, fiscal rules, stability, taxes the wealthy. Burnham: Vote for me. For us. For no new policies at all! #10YearKeir

@NotNoodles666 @IanPowderham Accepts it he’s gone in September & replace by Andy B, who will give labour a fighting chance in 2029 in a hung parliament.

@NotNoodles666 He didn’t achieve anything amazing at the last election! He was a beneficiary in a split on the right of the electorate!! Starmer is currently as popular as a dose on gonorrhoea! Twat!!!!

@IanPowderham Don't patronise me. I didn't say magic. Starmer put in the hard work to make the party electable again and won a huge majority. Burnham wants to dump his mayoralty, try to win a seat we already hold, and push Starmer out. Not having it.

Starmerism hopefully becomes a thing. It should really mean resilience and defiance for the greater good in the face of hostile media and opponents while facing off internal backstabbers. He’s showing true British stiff upper lip.

Tesco are making £4bn a year in profit. About 50% of their staff are on Universal Credit. Why don't we crackdown on this unneeded benefit for billionaires?

I have reflected on this a lot. If Burnham succeeds in getting rid of Keir I don't think I'll be able to vote labour again. I have voted labour all my life and am a party member. How sad is that

Starmer, with his quiet dignity and miraculous self-restraint, offers such a stark contrast to the pious, self-indulgent, manipulating, ambition-ridden egos scrapping with each other, sacrificing the Labour Party and the country without a backward glance.
Steve Jones@antoniosteve

@msjanebond007 Yep. Every aspect of how Starmer has behaved since this whole debacle started has only made me like him more. His response to Streeting's resignation was exceptionally graceful.
