NEWS! Elon Musk to address the issue of sexualised deep-fakes by monetising it newsthump.com/2026/01/09/elo…

@BarristerSecret Do you have the absolute numbers of days that could be used, including as a proportion of actual sitting days ?
English

The one “generational reform” he refuses to consider is actually opening the courtrooms.
Y’know, the tens of thousands of court days lost each year because Mr Lammy’s government refuses to pay for the courts to stay open.
David Lammy@DavidLammy
The justice system is reaching a crisis point, that's why we need generational reforms.

I'm rich & this is a lie. When politicians lower my taxes, I don't create additional jobs (only demand does that). I simply save that money
Trickle-down economics has been repeatedly debunked yet conservatives lie to you so they can give their wealthy overlords more tax cuts
Peter Schiff@PeterSchiff
If you want to help the poor, then lower taxes on the rich. What helps the poor is a productive economy that makes goods and services more abundant and less expensive, while creating employment opportunities. The capital investment that makes that possible comes from the rich.

@TiceRichard Dear Richard - do you know what the”E” in ECHR stands for for?
English

“Britain will be isolated if it leaves ECHR”
More Eurocrat twaddle from the global elite
Anyone told him US, Canada, Aus, & NZ, (4 of the 5 Eyes), are not in ECHR and doing rather well

If a patient gives me a £40 engraved pen as a gift I have to by law politely decline it (rightly).
But the guy in charge of UK healthcare in government can take £350k+ from private healthcare links and that’s absolutely normal and definitely not a conflict of interest?!
Make it make sense.
Neena Jha@DrNeenaJha
Since 2015, Wes Streeting has accepted £372,000 from private health care links! This should be a illegal for a health secretary in charge of the NHS. There’s a clear conflict of interest & raises concerns re: probity & integrity Who is the health secretary really working for?

Of course, all taxes should be paid in full nobody disputes that. Angela Rayner has admitted it, referred herself, and should pay up.
But Andrew, where was this same energy when:
•Nadhim Zahawi “forgot” to pay £5m to HMRC?
•Tory donors were caught funnelling money offshore with no real consequences?
•Boris Johnson’s Downing Street flat refurb was secretly funded by party donors?
Funny how outrage is selective. Tax avoidance is wrong whether it’s £40k in Hove or millions hidden in the Cayman Islands.
If we’re serious about fairness, let’s stop cherry-picking and hold everyone to the same standard especially those at the very top who write the tax rules in the first place.

@Iromg Just for once Mike eat some humble pie and accept the facts.
English

And yet you blithely assume the @Telegraph story is true - gullible or what 😀
Julia Hartley-Brewer@JuliaHB1
Sadly, this isn’t even shocking. We assumed they were lying anyway.

Three things to know about the doctors strikes
1. Even with the 29% increase, doctors are STILL earning less than they did in real terms in 2008
2. Wes Streeting is paying doctor's assistants, MORE than he is paying doctors
3. My cleaner and most of my friends who have cleaners, their cleaners earn more per hour than a doctor
You either support doctors, or you watch more of them leave, and the NHS get worse. And when you fall sick and need a doctor, but all you get is a lesser qualified doctor's assistant, good luck
