Furphy had next to no college recruiting and was entirely off the NBA radar coming out of the NBA Global Academy a year ago, but now leaves Kansas a projected top-20 pick. Pretty impressive rise for the 6'9, bouncy Australian.

NEWS: Kansas' Johnny Furphy announced he will remain in the 2024 NBA draft. The 6'9 Australian wing is the No. 18 prospect in ESPN's draft projections. He toyed with the idea of returning to Kansas, but ultimately got the assurances he was looking for regarding his draft stock.

This season has shown us how antiquated and unserious the Game Review Panel process is.
Lee’s foul was reviewed in real time and deemed unsportsmanlike, but the Wildcats asked for the GRP to review it and they came to a completely different outcome. Lee’s now suspended for an aggressive, playoff-type basketball play (he made contact with Usher’s head, which is bad, but it was just a hard contest) but players this season have avoided suspension for literally punching guys away from the ball. It’s quite an embarrassment and needs to change.

Tasmania JackJumpers centre Marcus Lee has been issued a two-game suspension - which can be reduced to one game with an early guilty plea - by the NBL’s Game Review Panel, for his foul on Jordan Usher at the end of Game 1 of his team’s semifinals matchup with the Perth Wildcats, the league says. Lee was charged with “unduly rough play”, and his action deemed “intentional, medium impact, and high contact.” The JackJumpers can either accept the early guilty plea or appeal the decision.
