From Street Corners to Street-Level Banter — After All These Years A worker at the Salafī Bookstore in Birmingham recently launched into a public emotional outburst, throwing slanders and accusations at several students of knowledge, myself included. His article reads less like a principled response and more like the reaction of a man torn between blind loyalty to personalities and fear that certain realities are finally being exposed. His disrespectful speech toward students like Abul ʿAbbās Mūsā @1MMeducation and @AbuMuadhTaqweem, men who studied in Saudi Arabia, graduated from its universities, and benefited directly from the scholars, exposed the difference between those cultivated upon knowledge and those whose attachment to scholars was mostly ceremonial: emotional stories, seasonal visits, and recycled praises. He then claimed publicly that I: • was deported from the UAE, • lived off wages and handouts, • abandoned my community, • have no real Daʿwah on the ground, • and spend my days attacking Salafis online, as though on commission. These are no longer casual remarks. They are public claims. And public claims require proof. So either he witnessed these matters himself firsthand — which he knows he didn't, or he is merely parroting gossip dropped into his ears. In either case, the burden of proof rests entirely upon him. Even beginner students know the principle: “The burden of proof lies upon the claimant, and oath on the one who denies” And here, he is the claimant and the slanderer. Internet gossip, WhatsApp tales, emotional speeches, and the tabloid-style methods his camp has become notorious for are not up for consideration. Evidence is clear proof that can withstand scrutiny religiously, morally, intellectually, and legally. And I swear by Allah, Lord of the heavens and the earth, besides whom none has the right to be worshipped, that he has lied openly and without restraint. So let him now produce his evidence clearly and directly. Not vague insinuations. Not “everybody knows.” Not “It’s nothing that isn't out there.“ Not emotional theatrics. And if he retreats into silence and ambiguity instead, then I will address these fabrications one by one and expose the falsehood and epicentre. He spoke recklessly believing nobody would challenge him. That assumption may soon become his greatest mistake. Written by Zubayr ʿAbbāsī 22 May 2026

Wow! So Shaykh Abū ʿIyāḍ حفظه الله (@AbuIyaadSP) is a “plant” now? الله المستعان. May Allāh give everyone what they deserve. And Allāh is Al-ʿAdl.
