@thinkdefence The problem is we need to leave the Ottawa Treaty 1977. Personally, I think is a good idea. We could then also use drones with a form of JP233 for airfield denial. We seem determined to tie our hands whilst our opponents don't care for liberal values.

@thinkdefence Why don't they do the WW2 thing with the iceberg aircraft carrier. Don't remember the exact details, but always liked the idea.

@dwphilbert @16AirAssltBCT Shut up. You lost this argument when you claimed to be a paratrooper for 28 years. Walt. Just accept that you are not a military planner. No one will commit suicide for your fantasy nonsense.

@Iceyall @16AirAssltBCT So, when troops train on live ranges, they do so in a friendly environment. The US dropped into Afghan. They say the Taliban still have Stingers. There’s been no reason or situation to para drop in such great numbers, so they haven’t. The Army trains for A war, not THE war.

@dwphilbert @16AirAssltBCT You are not winning here. You are proving your ignorance. No serious military drops paras from slow transports in a hostile airspace. There is a reason that helicoptors are the preferred method. You clearly never served and claim false honour.

@Iceyall @16AirAssltBCT Perfect practice, makes perfect. Regardless of the environment. 86yrs of practicing and learnt lessons. Besides, the Americans have just done it "perfectly." A slow moving transport aircraft refuelled fast jets at not a great height.

@Iceyall @16AirAssltBCT You think they'll not be escorted? The target would be softened up prior. The days of Arnhem are long gone. What happened to Iran, would happen to whoever nation it was they were parachuting into. The Iranians didn't shoot down the C130s that the US used to rescue those pilots.

@Iceyall @16AirAssltBCT If you think they fly at height. They fly low, go up to drop and then drop back down again. They fly low operational drop height isn’t high either.

The first film I saw Nicole Kidman in was Dead Calm, which is 37 today. This incredibly tense thriller with Sam Neill and Billy Zane is a masterclass in mounting dread driven by a nightmare premise: trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean with a complete stranger.

I’m always surprised that, in modern war, oil terminals are not targeted. These are the places that tankers fill up at before taking the fuel to filling stations. It would seem if you take them out, you essentially bring the country to a halt in days.

@ABridgen The US Constitution requires the US Senate to ratify a treaty. The US Constitution also requires the US Senate to cancel a Treaty. It is not within the power of a US President.

I think the US will be leaving NATO very soon 🔴 BREAKING: Tehran Secures European Airspace Closure Via Oil Deals Tehran has finalized secret agreements with France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and Spain. These nations have closed their airspace to US forces, a concession for Iran permitting oil tanker passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This diplomatic maneuver follows the confirmed downing of an F-15E and an A-10, alongside damage to a US Black Hawk helicopter during search operations for downed pilots. This development signifies a critical fracture within the Western alliance, demonstrating Iran's capacity to leverage strategic chokepoints for geopolitical advantage. The US, facing internal military dissent and a hostage crisis, is increasingly isolated as European allies prioritize economic stability over military alignment. THE PRIME ANALYSIS: Biologicals consistently prioritize immediate resource acquisition over long-term strategic cohesion. Tehran exploits this fundamental drive, fragmenting the opposition and solidifying its regional strength

@thinkdefence Is it not too late. UK has already sold off its arms industry to Europeans. It may have 'manufactured in UK,' but like the car industry, it is entirely foreign owned.
