Nine years on from the Manchester Arena terror attack, my thoughts are with those who lost their lives, the survivors, and their loved ones. Last year I was proud to deliver on my promise to Figen Murray to introduce Martyn’s Law, in memory of her son Martyn Hett. Martyn’s Law will help save lives by making sure venues and event spots have clear plans in place and are ready to act if the worst happens.

I think it is now crystal clear that @jbindel and @Docstockk (and whoever else is backing this shallow event) are not in the least bit serious about child safeguarding or women’s interests, given they are celebrating Buck’s performance in this way. I am always pro debate, but then if we wish to avoid debate becoming a mere entertainment or window dressing for exploitation and a distraction from much needed action, we must also judge what is said in that debate and by whom, and how it fits with whatever else they have said and done, as well as the political ramifications. And far from being an ‘excellent event’, as @Docstockk reports (apparently second hand without even listening to it herself), it was actually a sanitisation of the glaring harms of trans ideology and especially of Buck’s history of promoting it through porn, product sales and media - and to some extent, it sanitised the porn industry too. It also certainly promoted the ‘TruTrans’ ideology - ie that self-harming surgery is good for some people - which is an ideology that still grips so many children and young adults who are being lost to their own families and going under surgeons’ knives here in the UK everyday. This in turn supports the preservation of ‘trans rights’ in law, which at present in the UK create unacceptable danger because they apply to children. But we got nowhere near the truth of that disaster, nor heard a single solution offered. Buck’s arguments were perhaps earnest, but they were also partial, self suiting, inconsistent and incoherent - as you’d expect from a post-abused person who openly admits she has an identity disorder. There were signs she is still coming to terms with what she’s been through, but when it came to the moment she could be truly honest and say ‘I am so profoundly sorry for influencing other people’s children by my example and advancing this ideology via porn and product sales for my own profit, and for issuing intolerant messages about the lie that I am a man’, she chose instead to cry for being too late to speak up about child harms - effectively twisting her own role as an exponent of this cult into the position of a falsely modest saviour whose only regret is not stepping forward even sooner than she already did. This was not the truth and we all know it, and Bindel and the moderator said nothing, as it would simply be too cruel to press the matter further with such an injured and confused person. So, I’m sorry - I want to believe Buck’s efforts and feel deeply sorry for the abuse it seems she has received - but her performance was not yet fully in touch with reality, and child safeguarding cannot include helping adults clear their conscience or heal themselves. So I ask @bindelj and @unherd when are you going to platform a much less lucrative and clickbait worthy discussion with grieving parents who have lost kids to irreversible self mutilation after being captured by the ideology and porn industry Buck profits from (assuming the royalties still roll in?), and when will you call for the repeal of ‘Gender Laws’ which have always included the intention to groom children? Or do you only care about assisting lesbians?

We don’t have to live like this.

🚨 We have a gang of dangerous foreigners on the loose in Grimsby attempting to rob people late at night with machetes Two reports in the last 24 hours around Grimsby town Centre, 3 men believe to be African origin, late 30s-40s two of them were of bulky build and one was skinny, asked young on way home from work as he left the train station for money He refused then one pulled out machete and the young lad ran for his life until they stopped chasing Are they migrants that have just been moved to our area, gangs of foreigners robbing people is something we don't usually see here in Grimsby. This young man no longer feels safe in his home town he was born and raised in and will be picked up from the train station by his dad in future 😔 Police have requested cctv from the shop on the video and the railway station, let's hope these b*stards are caught asap!

It was a tragic, brief case of battlefield triage and confusion in the opening minutes of a midnight response, before they realized Henry was the victim and did everything to try and save him

This poor boy was running away from someone who stabbed him & stole his phone, but the police in the UK attacked him instead of his murderer!
