Resident doctors have been left with no choice but to strike. During my House job there was this consultant Obstetrician who sat us down and told us that the greatest pay for our services as doctors was "thank you" by the patient. Meanwhile he has a private hospital where he encourages house officers to go there and do night cover and either end up not paying or pay below the agreed amount. Guess what, his CS fee is very expensive.
