The average #ttrpg rulebook dwarfs the average #boardgame rulebook. Break out one of those old Avalon Hill rulebooks and you'll see interest in learning a new set of rules disappear pretty quickly.

If you don't have Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu, it's inclusive and diverse, even in the past time periods.
If you like the AGE system, check this out. It's not filling some inclusivity void, however. I wish companies using Cthulhu to drive sales would stop doing this.

Unless you're paying your GM, it's not their "job" to do anything. Players are responsible for their own characters and their own fun.

@ADnDMaster @totally_canada @zombietwinkie44 @Euanie1 @PathsPeculiar It makes sense if you understand your job as a GM. If your players don't bond with their characters maybe it's because YOU didn't provide an immersive experience. Unless it's a 1 shot your players should get attached.

A lot of #ttrpg issues would be avoided if people:
1. understood that games are different from movies and books
2. remembered that they're playing a group game, not a solo game
3. brought their own fun to table instead of expecting other people to provide it for them
