i can't write poetry lately. I'm angry, on some level, all the time. some people write great angry poetry, but i can't. the world refuses to be as beautiful as i know it should be and i can't forgive that.

apocalypse I used to think the last day would come with a trumpet and shout and cracked-open skies heaven and hellfire cloaked in clouds until that moment now I see each shattered child is an apocalypse where is paradise? we are gaping

I love that single used of past tense. Everything else about this poem is so present, despite the subject matter.
