Some thoughts on Nakobe Dean signing with the Raiders: ** First thought is I’m happy Nakobe got paid. He worked through multiple injuries after falling in the draft, which cost him money. A big pay day was never guaranteed. He earned the big money he got from the Raiders. ** Even though it was a forgone conclusion he was leaving this is still a big loss. He was one of the few players I’ve covered that completely changed the attitude of the defense when he was on the field. The Eagles have leaders but they will miss Nakobe. ** Obviously the pressure is now on Jihaad Campbell to replace Nakobe. That’s why the Eagles didn’t re-sign him — to give Campbell a chance to start and not have a road block in front of him ** It had to sting for Howie to not re-sign Nakobe, who is one of his draft success stories.
