A modest new mosque had just been completed nearby, and with Jumu'ah prayers overflowing, the congregation had simply taken over the road. This was the sole convenient exit from our estate to the express. The alternative? A torturous detour of over 30 minutes looping through another estate, navigating terrible inner roads, and fighting your way back onto the highway.

In this day and age, this is happening in Benin City to Don Pedro Obaseki, PhD, former Managing Director of Daar Communications Plc, for being related to a critic of the Oba of Benin. Indeed, Benin has descended into a land of barbarity with a heart of darkness. This gross violation of Dr Don Pedro Obaseki's human rights, including his right to the dignity of the human person, must be condemned by all well-meaning individuals worldwide. I couldn't hold back my tears while watching this video. I'm unsure how anyone who subscribes to this would describe themselves. This cannot be the Benin we once knew.
