SHARP Project in Kenya
SHARP Project in Kenya@ProjectSHARP·
Strengthening youth access to accurate SRHR information starts with empowering young people themselves. Through @ProjectSHARP , implemented by Initiatives for Progressive Change (IfPC) in Moyale, a peer-to-peer outreach in Oda Location reached 35 adolescents and youth (20 girls, 15 boys) with critical information on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Key outcomes included: ✅Increased SRHR knowledge and awareness ✅Improved understanding of referral pathways to youth-friendly services ✅Strengthened youth confidence to seek care ✅Safe space created for open dialogue on sensitive topics SHARP remains committed to building the capacity of grassroots, youth-led organizations to design and lead community-driven interventions that respond to the real needs of adolescents and young people. #HealthyAdolescents #CSOSpotlight

Knowledge is one of the strongest tools against violent extremism. On 6 March, @NCTC_Kenya engaged staff and students at Shanzu Teachers Training College in @MombasaCountyKe in a counter-terrorism awareness session designed to strengthen their ability to recognise, question, and push back against extremist narratives. Supported by @EUinKenya, the engagement sparked open conversations on how radicalisation happens, the warning signs to watch for, and the role institutions like schools and colleges can play in stopping it early. As shared during the session: “With guns you can kill terrorists, with education you can kill terrorism.” Through initiatives like this, #NCTC continues to work with learning institutions to build informed, vigilant communities that are better equipped to resist recruitment and extremist influence, advancing the goals of the #NSPCVE. #SecureKe #TuweTayariKuilinda @CSMechanism @CTP_Kenya @KECOSCE @zaidrehema @theGCERF

We are grateful to @MeTAKenya2018 for their continued support. There is need to scale up such outreaches not only in Oda but across other wards of Moyale to help curb teenage pregnancy, misinformation, and barriers to accessing youth-friendly SRHR services 3/3
