Perhaps the driver understands that if he gives them a ride he is at substantially higher risk of being the victim of a robery or an assault. Maybe there was a reason. Maybe there wasn't. But from my perspective, it felt like three Black teenage boys were judged the moment they got into that car..not because of anything they did, but because of what they looked like. My son came back in the house confused. He couldn't even tell me what they had done wrong because... nothing had happened. They had literally just gotten in. People often talk about teaching our sons how to behave in public. We do. We teach them to be respectful, say "yes sir" and "no ma'am," keep their hands visible, be polite, and avoid giving anyone a reason to feel uncomfortable. But what do you tell them when they do everything right and are still made to feel like they don't belong?‘ 🤔

From what has been publicly reported, there has been no evidence presented that Nolan’s disappearance and death were racially motivated. Because of that, I think that introducing racial narratives before the facts support them could distract from the central question: what actually happened to Nolan Wells? Nolan appeared to have friends from different backgrounds, and I believe the focus should remain on finding answers and establishing the truth based on evidence rather than turning the case into a broader social or political cause. The family has every right to choose their legal team and advocates, but I think this approach risks taking attention away from the facts of the case. As for the interview itself, seeing a spokesperson eating on camera during such a serious discussion did not inspire confidence.
