The footage emerging from the area is devastating and too graphic to share. Despite multiple peace commitments made in Doha, Switzerland, and Washington, Tshisekedi’s government continues to violate these agreements while civilians pay the price.

À l’instar de Human Rights Watch, Reporters sans frontières s’illustre désormais dans la diffusion de rapports infondés, dont l’unique objectif est de porter atteinte à notre image. Nous avons formellement demandé à cette organisation de fournir des preuves étayant ses allégations. À notre grande stupéfaction, RSF a reconnu que ses principales « sources » reposaient sur des contenus issus des réseaux sociaux. Une telle légèreté méthodologique est indigne d’une organisation qui se revendique comme une référence internationale en matière de défense du journalisme. Un rapport fondé sur de telles bases ne saurait être considéré comme crédible et doit être rejeté sans équivoque. Ces accusations sont totalement infondées et s’inscrivent dans une campagne de propagande grossièrement orchestrée par le régime de Kinshasa. Dans l’ensemble des zones libérées, les journalistes exercent leur métier librement, sans intimidation ni entrave. À l’inverse, à Kinshasa, des journalistes sont assassinés, arbitrairement arrêtés ou réduits au silence. Le CSAC y impose des restrictions sévères, entravant toute couverture de la guerre imposée à l’AFC/M23 par le régime de Kinshasa, une guerre qui prend pour cible directement les populations civiles et leurs biens. Chaque jour, des journalistes locaux, régionaux et internationaux, ainsi que des correspondants de médias étrangers, se rendent dans les zones libérées et y travaillent sans subir la moindre forme de pression ou de harcèlement.
