You won’t truly understand the damage IGBOS have done to Nigerians until you leave Nigeria, not for Europe, Latin America, or Asia, but for another African country. Even our fellow Africans don’t want us around. We all saw what happened when Igbos were chased out of Ghana, South Africa, and other nations. Yet they’re not the only people going to those places. So why is it always them who are turned away? You can’t have a problem with everyone and still believe you’re not the problem. Wherever you go in the world, the moment you pull out that green passport, you’re already unwanted. Some countries won’t even grant you a transit visa just because you’re Nigerian. You’ll lose a life changing opportunity, a dream job, a chance to escape poverty, all because of your nationality. You can’t find work easily anywhere. You are judged before you speak, rejected before you apply. And even here at home, in Nigeria, these same people have issues with every other tribe.
