@DalrympleWill @EmpirePodUK I'm no expert, but the ancients would have pronounced it with a hard "c," as the Greek and Latin spellings suggest and as preserved in the Babylonian Talmud: "Akteisfon" (אקטיספון). Pronunciation in English, like the modern Persian spelling, seems to be tɛsɪˌfɒn
