@abysmaldogwater I'm going to be honest. I think that while TAS did start it, it was really the raimi movies that adapted it and that's really what majority of people saw and grew up on for the change to really affect everything

The Animated Series did irreparable damage to the black suit’s reputation and now it only comes out in the comics to show that Peter is out to hurt/kill someone

The Black Suit is the most misunderstood costume in Spider-Man’s history. No it doesn’t not make Peter aggressive. No it is not a slimy costume. No Peter does not know it’s an alien and when he find out he immediately gets rid of it. It’s no longer the alien after issue 258.
