@bowtiedstocks Brisbane has so many high achieving and well resourced state schools, that the only reason you would pay those fees for private is school, is for the weird religious instruction or socialising your child with other wealthy family, its definitely not for an academic advantage

I’m surprised a bit by just how high some private school fees are in Brisbane today Many many schools north of $30k + a year in fees or around that mark No tax deductions for these costs either, it’s all post tax money So for high earners, that’s $60k a year per kid of pre tax earnings 3 kids there’s $180k before you get out of bed, clothe or feed them Can keep people running on the hamster wheel for a long time You can also see how what sounds like a reasonably good salary disappears pretty fast

It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

When you boil potatoes ready for mash what’s the perfect size to cut them in to. Is it halves quarters or leave them full ? Is their a better method for that perfect mash potato😋
