Barrie Police Service Media Release: Police identify suspect after early morning incident
Just after midnight on Saturday, April 11, Barrie Police were contacted regarding a report of a male who had been stabbed in the area of Anne Street North and Donald Street.
When police arrived, a 43-year-old Barrie man was located in life-threatening condition.
He was transported to a local hospital, and then air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives from the Barrie Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit have identified a 28-year-old Barrie man as a suspect in this occurrence, and charges are pending.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam or other video footage in the area is asked to contact police.
The investigation included resources from the Canine Unit, front-line uniform response, the Forensic Identification Unit.
Roads were closed briefly for the investigation, and reopened around 4:30 a.m.

So, there are rumours that @PierrePoilievre may take a seat in Edmonton.
Let me say this. I hope he does because when Alberta separates, he will lose his seat for a second time. That would be impressive to see.
On a more serious note, the people in Edmonton didn't vote for Pierre and it is so wrong to circumvent the democratic process to save face for a part leader.
He lost his seat after 20 years of service in his riding. The voters have spoken. To now insert yourself as an unelected member because you are the party leader is very Globalist and elitist of him. Even @MarkJCarney didn't do that, he called an election to win his seat.
I hope the people in the riding get loud about this and reject this "appointment" because the facts are, Pierre lost, he took the CPC down with him, and imposing himself on voters who didn't vote for him would be the end of his political career and the CPC.
Be a leader, and step down. At least @theJagmeetSingh had just enough class to do so.
