@BomberRicko Iirc he Came in as a forward wing type who kicked goals so naturally we put him at half back in teams getting pumped and unable to score or on the bench where one never gets a kick. Hope he goes well

@DonCaldwelll I’d like to think we can do this one but we were fortunate to win last year and their talent build is advanced to ours and I think they believe we are gettable . The tin rattlers time may have come but as always happy to be wrong
English

@BomberBanter_au We play some who are not worthy of a game atm in lieu of others who are not worthy of a game either. So it then becomes a case who is the most worthy of the least worthy. Not an idea selection headache to have
English

Selection integrity also means picking players knocking down the door in the 2s. In my view this is simply not happening - despite how sexy some stats sheets appear. We are not a club yet with handy depth - many are young developing players - and there in lies a big part of the problem.
Silent 🐝@SilentGhost263
this is pretty spot on from Nick in particular. Brad & co. can say all these things but if you don't swing the axe at senior, established players then they're idle words with no weight. Selection this week is maybe the most important one in his tenure, it'll shape the season.

@robbiefushu @kangamerchant It’s been building , it’s coming , they should have beaten us last year and based upon the past 4 hours of football it’s hard to see how the Roos can’t win . Happy to be wrong but don’t believe we have the mettle to ramp up the heat and turn the ship around ina week .

@JakeDav08180745 Until they replace the meek ,lazy and ineffectual with driven talented players it won’t matter if Jesus coaches them as they will always revert to type under pressure. 3 coaches B4 Scott ended up in the same position. Hird has had his time, love him but let’s move on.
English

@rtralphy Mate it is sickening. Had a go today at former board member who was celebrating the current situation, trying to claim vindication. What a bunch of selfish sods.
What I love about Simon Madden. Was on the board, didn’t work out, and he’s still ready to help out anywhere anytime.
English

@FootyLock6 It’s footy theatre to appease the fans . Win games and no words needed. No apologies no recriminations , nothing to be said when u win After all those words and platitudes the game will still start at nil all at first bounce.
English

Highly recommend.
It’s hard to back in Scott after the start, but this surprisingly suggests that there is a vote of confidence from the players, who are the most important people. Often you would dodge a bit more if you didn’t back him. Importantly, really focusses on culture

@C_Corday @SilentGhost263 Meek is an excellent word to describe the mindset of our players and the way we play. Choirboys et al
English

@Bombers_Boss Boss, words are all they have interms of leadership grunt. Sounds mean but they have said the same for the last 2 coaches and now on their 3rd. Imho, say nothing and then just go and DO. it’s not our first rodeo hearing how miffed and determined they are blah blah blah

Here @Ross_Greenwood covers the complete and utter failure of Australia’s tobacco regulation.
Taxes down from $16.9B to $7B.
A new multi billion crime industry is born.
And now illegal cheap cigarettes means smoking rates are now increasing.
Well done Australia.
English

@BigRick555 You’d hope so but I’m not sure the “leaders” are made of the right stuff. The young ones hopefully have the grunt to take us forward. The legacy of the Dodoro choir boy selections live large each week. Meanwhile the hawks picked Beastie boys hence where they are at
English

@DonCaldwelll Simply because someone has to go and when in doubt go for the youngest or newest. It’s easy. Been a baptism by fire for him. I did notice that he got dirty with team mates who left a port player get the ball at one point. Thats a positive. Time to stop being passive

Why are so many Essendon supporters asking for Max Kondogiannis to be dropped?
After ONLY 2 Games averaging:
14 Disposals
(12 Effective)
100% Kicking Efficiency
3.5 Ground Balls
*currently the 5th best rated teenager in the comp
Is it because he got caught holding the ball against Port? What am I missing?

@Coldogs They will always find someone or something to get frenzied about. It’s an industry with an insatiable appetite for “news”. If there ain’t any just create some rinse and repeat. However EFC is supplying way too much content atm. Kinda get what we deserve. Being ultra 💩 causes it

@robbiefushu @JakeDav08180745 Called out the miss and highlighted the impact. Cant sugar coat how it made everyone feel.

Brad has lost the players. I can understand calling them out on their performance, but Caddy was one of the few who actually tried. He kicked 4 goals

Brad Scott singled out one player in his post match press conference following the "demoralizing" loss to Port... And one AFL great cannot believe who he targeted... MORE: nine.social/16vh #9WWOS #AFL

@SilentGhost263 In hindsight we should have traded him to Adelaide. Hes been phoning it in since his contract renewal.
English

@CraiG_Mc I think he was making a point that basic skill error like missing from 3 meters is a team killer and sucks the life out of the players and is devastating at that time.
English

Say what you want about his coaching, fair enough and not that anyone will care.. But…
I highly doubt Brad Scott was intentionally being critical of Caddy’s performance or his miss in front of goal, or blaming that moment as a reason for the way the team played.
In my view. He was simply using it to highlight how, when you feel like you’re starting to play better footy and build momentum, moments like that can be deflating for a group, shift energy and impact the team — particularly when it feels like it compounds everything else. We need to remember these footballers are human after all.
I honestly don’t believe it was meant as a direct criticism of Caddy at all, just an example within the broader context of what he was saying.
Now maybe he didn’t need to say it the way he did or use Caddy as the example. But he’s human too, and doesn’t deserve some of the extreme heat he’s copped over it.
There is a level of truth in what he was trying to say within the broader context, and that shouldn’t be ignored either. It’s something that’s hopefully being addressed internally at the club.

@Bombers_Boss I was happy with the presser, we need to knuw that at least they see what we see. No chasing no tackling no running the other way no defence and particularly that some players simply refuse to do what is required. If u r a player and thought no one noticed then u are doomed.Imho
